Why would the Leafs ever agree to this? A 50 even strength points, top 6 winger and young RD who's looked promising in his rookie season for a pair of mid round picks and a 3rd pairing RD who's not a difference maker on the back side of his career. There's little value there for them. It neither makes them better in the present nor in the future.

And the Leafs will get more in return for that 1 player than you traded them here and get to keep Kerfoot. The Canucks will have spent more on Liljegren than they did for both Kerfoot and Liljegren here, both in assets as well as salary. Your own point shows how this trade makes no sense.
