Blues decline. Not only does this create a massive hole at center for the Blues, but Kakko is barely worth a 2nd round pick at this point.

The sad part is that is probably the most realistic move made on this post.

That TRad trade is interesting. Why trade for him if you're not going to play him though? Also, IF CHI were smart, they'd try to play him more and increase his value. I could see him being a Blake Coleman/Barclay Goodrow trade target. He's much more physical than I remember watching him in Erie, but then again that was 5 years ago...

I mean that would totally F with their cap situation that's already in a bad place.

It would but it would still be worth matching rather than losing Sandin for only a 2nd. You’d have to offload Mrazek’s contract somewhere (probably would cost a 2nd/3rd round pick to do so), and trade Holl for a mid round pick. It’s still a very difficult offer sheet to match with Toronto’s current cap situation, but it’s doable.

Don’t think Chicago touches that trade. Rad’s has show tremendous upside in Chicago and he’s on a dirt cheap contract for 2 years.

Blues fans have made a lot of noise about Thomas being untouchable, so I don't know if that's the package to pry him out. He's also only got one affordable year left before RFA - gonna have to pay him and K'Andre after 2022-23 (plus fill out your bottom 6) with only ~$11M in cap space.

Kings fans can correct me on this one, but I think it's a fair trade. Turcotte is younger and cheaper so the Kings get two change-of-scenery guys for their one.

Hawks need someone to play goal, so I can't hate the value for them there. It means they basically turn Brandon Hagel and a couple 4ths into 2 1sts, Boris Katchouk, and Georgiev - not horrible on their end.

I think Philly sends less back - Nemeth pulls value away from Lundkvist, so I think it's a single 3rd coming back for that package.

Lastly - explain to me why the Isles give up next year's 1st (hopefully in the 20s?) for this year's 1st (25ish?) and a couple mid-round picks. I know teams want to trade out of this year's 1st and get more chances at next year's, but I don't think an extra 4/5/6 is enough to get the Isles to play that game. Although I must commend the commitment to clearing out your ENTIRE draft cupboard this year.

This could very easily be a cold take, but I think I prefer Thomas. I think both of those guys will be cool, but RT was showing a lot more than either of them when he was their age.

I would add to it...Isles may be picking top-10 next year

Kings don’t need chytil. So essentially this is Turcotte for Kravstov. NYR add.

C prospect > RW prospect

Turcotte does well when not hurt. Still an A prospect in kings organization.

Blues decline. They won't give up a 22 C who is above a PPG for two players who have high ceilings but haven't reached them and may not reach them

I'd say just as likely it's in the mid-20s as it is in the lottery.

I know our fandoms have us predisposed to chirping each other but I'm sure even a Rangers fan can agree that the Isles had an unusually difficult start to the season - the 13 game road trip, with games spaced out so insanely (they literally had 2 separate instances of a 10 day period where they played -one- game), then they were one of the only teams that had to play multiple games with 6+ guys on the COVID list (your Rangers beat them on a night they had to play Thomas Hickey for 21+ minutes, for example) before finally having some games postponed after playing 4 straight with half their AHL roster. Since that postponement, they played at a 95 point pace until they were officially eliminated from the playoffs 2 weeks ago. I'd be more surprised to see them not bounce back next year than I was to see them fall apart this year (anyone who saw them starting the season with Chara/Greene as LD2/LD3 should not be surprised by some of these struggles).

Turcotte will cost K'Andre Miller. I probably wouldn't do it if I were the Rangers.

He's been good defensively. Offense isn't there to justify any more.

No, he's our best defensive forward and his numbers will grow, with us. He justifies more than a 2nd lofl

He doesn't justify it right now. In a few years he might, but not right now.
