There is 0 chance the Canucks retain on OEL while bringing back Trouba.

Trouba doesn’t waive of course. So that’s over.

That minnesota offer is kind of a joke. I think you’d have to add a couple firsts.

This is opposite our needs. In this scenario, next year; 0m with JTM & Donskoi gone, worse defence, picks and no replacement C. Before that, this year; you're shorting players 3-6m. Kakko 2.4, Blais 1.6, Kessel 2-4, Fiala 6.5-8 x7max. Better off with Kakko. Same with Cuylle & pick.

No Braden Schneider as part of the trade package for the Canucks, no trade. Also, Trouba wants to stay in NY and there are other cheaper options.

We are lacking in picks, prospects, and we need to improve our blueline. I don't think Trouba is the way to do it.

Well Trouba isn't waiving for Vancouver....so that's the end of that trade discussion.

You’d need to add a 1st and 2nd for fiala plus add dollars to his contract. He’ll get 7.5ish

I can't imagine any universe where that Vancouver trade happens. First off, Trouba doesn't waive his NMC for Vancouver. If, for some reason, he did, the value here is just abominable. We can quibble about the Trouba/Chytl/1st for JT Miller & OEL package (I think it's weak tbh), but on top of that you're asking Vancouver to carry 4 years of a $3.63M dead cap hit and all you're giving them is a late 2nd round pick and a guy who every team in the league knows you're trying to dump because your coach and GM pissed him off so bad he went back to Russia? No way that can happen.

If all you're offering for Fiala is Kakko, someone else is going to beat that offer. And if Fiala is signing for 8x$6M, he's staying in Minnesota - the only reason there's any thought that he gets moved is because he's most likely asking for $7.5-8M AAV and that's just gonna be too tight for the Wild.

You're paying the Islanders to take Nemeth off your hands - they can easily sign a more talented LD2 for the same cap hit in free agency.

I don't know if you'd need to give up that much to pry Donskoi out of Seattle, but a guy who's literally put up 2 goals in 74 games is a target? I know positive regression should hit him, but there's probably half a dozen guys you could sign as a bottom 6 forward in UFA for ~$2M who can give you his type of production and then you can keep your prospect & pick package.

laugh laugh What part of Trouba saying that he'd never play again in Canada did you miss? Trouba isn't waiving to be 3,000 miles from his wife. And she can't be a Dr in Canada period. Trouba isn't going anywhere for 2 more years any way when his NMC becomes a Mod-NTC. And OEL will never waive for the Rangers. And Copp isn't signing that low ball offer from New York try more like $5,500,000 x 6 years for Andrew Copp.
