dumba'd probably be the easiest to acquire, if the wild want to keep fiala they have to get rid of him. maybe like a second and a fourth?

Sens will not trade Zub. He's the shutdown RD they've been searching for basically since the start of the Erik Karlsson era. He's 26 and there's no reason to believe they'll have any problem locking him up long term after next season. He's a core part of this young team.

I’m curious, where do you currently see the team? Contender? Pretender? Rebuilder? Retool? Do you view one of these trades as one to move you into contender status? What’s the position of greatest need? At first glance from an outsiders perspective I’d say RD, so you’d probably need a defenseman and one that is big and mobile. Especially considering Hughes is of a smaller stature.

Provorov would probably be a Boeser swap of some sorts

All futures, ideally he returns as much as Risto got last year (especially since he's better than Risto). But I imagine he'll get maybe a 1st and a small add.

I think the template would be the Devon Toews trade for 2 2nds.

Having said that it wouldn't surprise me to see a return more like the Risto trade.

I think the one thing to consider is that the wild is trading to move off cap, so it might be closer to the toews trade as opposed to a 1st, 2nd and roster player

Ya exactly my thoughts. Very similar situation to NYI moving Toews out.

Sens will not trade Zub (or at least should not) unless they are bringing in an upgrade at RD

    Marc Methot?

But Marc declined a bit young though as he got several bad injuries, then was let go at the Vegas expansion. He only played 45 more games and retired at 33 y/o

Marc Methot was great, but he's not a RD.

Oh yeah sorry, forgot the RD angle. It's because Karlsson was the RD and he was not shutdown

    Cody Ceci?

Cody Ceci sucked ass. They haven't had a proper shutdown RD since like, Volchenkov

He was wrongfully (OVER)used for 3 years from 2016-17 to 2018-19 but the rest of his career is pretty decent. He was pretty good on the Penguins last year and is doing fine with the Oilers this year as well.

But agreed he was never supposed to be a shutdown D-man anyway

Honestly the Canucks are a lost identity team. I would say they will make the playoffs but not a deep run. I made this just out of curiosity

Kind of like the Rangers after 2015. It’s a tough spot to be in imo.
