I love the idea of bringing Trotz in. I just don't think it aligns with the type of rhetoric the Hawks brass have been pushing.

Trotz would healthy scratch every young player you have. He’s the worst coach for a rebuild

I think you're right. He's not likely a candidate. His teams don't tend to score enough. They have forwards truly be defensively responsible 2-way players. I can't claim that I "KNOW" the Hawks are going a PURE analytics route which can truly reduce eye test, but it does feel like they're going to lean hard into analytics. And for example Nylander's having a career year, but analytics can't outline the video below. He should be so embarrassed.

I just dont think Trotz would sign with a team that is just entering a rebuild, especially not if we are trading Kane too. Would love to see him go to the Devils.

Trotz doesn't make a lot of sense. I don't think he'd want to coach through a rebuild, I don't think he's good at developing young players either. It doesn't make much sense for either side.

Trotz would hate a rebuild. Plus the defense and the younger ones are absolutely not trotz style dmen.
