Detroit are a young team in the middle of a rebuild, but there is some serious optimism with their strong prospect pool. Furthermore, Martinez hails from Michigan and played his high school hockey there. Thus, there is a sense of familiarity for him going to Detroit.

No. 4th for Martinez. Vegas has no leverage.

Vegas was going to pay a 2nd to get rid of Dadonov at the deadline, while also taking back a dump in John Moore (who cost the Bruins a 2nd or Vaak to dump). Moore's cap hit is $2.75 mil.

I'm curious as to why retaining less than the Moore hit is actually going to turn Dadonov into a positive value asset?

Buffalo isn’t paying you for your overpaid back up goaltender, you’re paying them to take him. And they probably still say no because he isn’t good and is not the kind of goalie they are looking for.

Dadonov at 3 million isn't so bad. Plus a desperate to Move dadonov and dress a full roster and make the playoffs Vegas is different than the off-season.

I'm sure Vegas can get a third, but sure if it makes you happier smile

Vegas was desperate at the trade deadline due to having to activate Mark Stone. That is no longer the situation. Dadonov is also a good player, and would likely fit in very well in Washington. 3M is about what Dadonov is worth IMO.

Are you saying that Vegas isn't equally as desparate to dump cap this offseason? You had to cut almost $9 mil here just to field a roster where you slap Nick Hague directly across the face.

Vegas is going to get screwed on every trade they make this offseason because they are all made out of desperate necessity.

A 3rd is fair value for Martinez but Detroit have several options to choose from and price is a factor as well as all other things. Detroit only have one 3rd round pick but three in round 4 so lowering the ask to a 4th will increase the likelyhood of a deal being made.
