I live in the DFW now so I see the Stars play and Nylander is a great fit. They also need a young RHD.

Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Dellandrea, Ty
  2. Faksa, Radek
  3. Stranges, Antonio
  4. 2022 2nd round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
Faksa is a perfect 3rd line centre. He’s a better version of Kampf. Ty isn’t what we thought he could be but he is an energetic player who should still be a good middle six forward. Stranges can skate with the best of prospects and he has a nice shot. He could end up as a 2nd liner.
DAL
  1. Liljegren, Timothy [RFA Rights]
  2. Nylander, William
Additional Details:
Nylander is exactly what Dallas needs, a dangerous righty who can fly out there and will be a great heir to Pavelski. Liljegren can be a good option as a 2nd RHD.

3.
TOR
  1. Pederson, Lane
  2. 2022 4th round pick (SJS)
SJS
  1. Engvall, Pierre [RFA Rights]

It isn’t easy, but you did it. You’ve somehow turned Toronto into a lottery team with just 1 trade

That is almost certainly a no from Winnipeg. It's unlikely the Jets move DeMelo for a rental they don't really need.

Considering “In Dubas we trust” I think I can figure out how little you know about hockey

How? Defence wins in the playoffs and that team I just made would be absurdly difficult to score on

Where does he fit in? You have a lot of prospects on the blueline

Dallas say yes in a hearthbeat but IMO you could get a lot more for those two players.

Most are left shot defenseman and the Jets have no need for another left shot forward.

Good point. I somehow forgot Samberg was a lefty. Is Dillon a better option to be traded?

SJ is not taking more cap hits in the bottom six. We have better players making less than Engvall.

Forwards play defence too and Faksa is as good or better than Kampf.

Who exactly? Engvall is a pretty good bottom six player.

Then I wouldn’t pay double Kampfs salary for him if he’s “just as good”

1) Why trade for Pierre Engvall when a team can just throw a 3rd round compensation offer sheet that Toronto can't match because of their cap? Same goes but without the trade for Rasmus Sandin.

$1,356,540 – $2,055,364 (or whatever it becomes this summer with 1M higher cap compared to last year) only costs a 3rd round pick.

2) Offer sheets would be coming for Ondrej Kase as $1,356,540 was last year's number without compensation due.

3) Kerfoot's going into the rental year before UFA: his return is too high

4) Buying out Mrazek is asking for trouble in fitting in Bunting the following year (as you're essentially trading Nylander for Bunting's cap hit the following year) and you've increased your payroll.

Possibly, but he'd only move if the Jets get into cap trouble and would then only be for picks.

Bonino, Nieto, Bordeleau, Balcers. Bones and Niets are two of the best PKers in the league and Balcers is more versatile and Bordeleau is only in the bottom six for now...but he is far more skilled than Engvall. All those players are likely cheaper than Engvalls next deal. Our cap needs to go to RFA's not another bottom sixer.

Bonino is someone you should trade this offseason.

I'd trade DeMelo for Engvall over Kerfoot but I don't have an analytics boner for DeMelo like the rest of the world does, DeMelo while a steady dman is really not a top pair dman.
Maybe the Leafs would add a pick in that scenario though, I'm not sure a one for one gets it done for the Jets.

Should get Gurianov in that Dallas trade or you make the Dallas trade and send Gurianov to the Jets for DeMelo.

People that think that other GM's are going to help out Toronto or Tampa Bay's cap crunch and give fair value returns make me laugh.

What exactly was the return for Tyler Johnson? A contract of a retired player and it cost Tampa a 2nd round pick.

Stars accept immediately, we’ll figure out how to manage the cap later.
