Shaking Both Teams Up

Description
I'm only here for the trade, not the signings.

Before you yell at me in the comments, look at the 5 on 5 scoring for the two players. Ehlers has 39 5v5 points in 62 games where as Willie has 40 in 80 games. The main difference, Ehlers isn't given any top line powerplay time on the Jets. Imagine what Ehlers could do with a top line PP next to Matthews, it would be gross.

Both teams need a shakeup but I do think that the Jets need to sweeten the pot a little bit to make it work. Appleton is a good depth piece and the 2nd can help replace a bit of the cupboard or hell, they can trade it for something else.

The trade would be straight up or Toronto would have to add. Ehlers is more impactful

Jets decline. They need a new coach to put Ehlers on the top line and PP1 to maximise his talents.

Neutral fan here, at the very least this should be a 1 for 1. Given the fact Ehlers is signed to an additional year and has a better cap hit, I think Toronto may have to add on top of a 1 for 1

It's not a guarantee that Ehlers will work on a top line powerplay whereas we know that Nylander can work on a top line powerplay. IMO that makes him slightly more valuable than Ehlers.

When the Jets put Ehlers on PP1 it worked. Its just crappy coaching that has him PP2. There is no need for the Jets to make that trade.

"Alright Toronto fans, start ripping me in the comments". It's the Jets fans that should be ripping you. Ehlers is as good as Nylander...maybe better, Ehlers is cheaper and has additional one year on his deal. And the Jets are adding a second and Appleton also? One sided in favour of the Leafs.

That's cool. Let Toronto keep Nylander then. Ehlers has a better contract and is a play driver, Nylander is a passenger. There is no doubt Ehlers is the better, more valuable player.

Why are the Jets adding to the deal. Ehlers is a better player than Nylander and drives the play better, not to mention Nylanders ****ty work ethic which was highlighted in the playoffs when he was too scared to forecheck. We don’t want him
