What is Kanes trade value

Created by: perrystreett

Initial Creation Date: May 20, 2022

Description
I imagine a trade is unrealistic, but this is for fun.

Is he likely to resign in Chicago? I saw an article saying he is expected to, but why? He obviously has his cups and all the success he experienced in Chicago, but is he wanting to wind down his career with a rebuild?

How much should a team pay for one year of him (plus potential extension)?

If he decides he wants to move on before free agency, is he likely to pull a taylor hall and say this is where I am going, get what they give or will he meet the team in the middle and find something for both of them?

What is a fair trade for Stevie?

IF Kane wants this, because the only way he's traded is if he wants it, this is probably a pretty good offer. Add in that the hawks will retain half

The fact that he has all of the cups and the success is the exact reason why he’s likely to stay. He doesn’t need to chase a cup or a hart or something like that. He’s already got his legacy as a hall of farmer and i think now his goal is to be the greatest blackhawk of all time

Where would you rank him now? Behind Mikita and Hull?

From what I've heard, yes, Kane likes Chicago, and it appears he wants to stay if possible. I can see multiple reasons why he might want to stay:
1: He has a son with his girlfriend, who is a designer from Chicago, and I think works there. He may not want to uproot his family if at all possible.
2: The Blackhawks have stood by him during his younger troubles (Cabby incident, the sexual assault allegations), and that could mean something to him. Ie, he's loyal to the organization.
3: Kane has his cups and is interested in getting his name as part of history by taking over many of Mikita's records.
4: He likes Chicago a lot and just doesn't want to leave the city.
5: Though it's not close, it's still within a driveable distance to Buffalo so he's accessible for his parents and sister.

Again, those are just my guesses. Could be some of those are true, could be none of them. Maybe Kane just doesn't like change or hates moving and wants to avoid it if possible.

That being said, if Kane does decide he wants out, and is willing to waive his NMC, it's likely the asking price for him is similar to what a team would ask for for an Ovi, or Crosby etc. Those three are all different players, but some of the best at what they do. I would expect a deal would look more like: two firsts, a prospect, and/or rostered player depending on the values of the players involved. The Blackhawks would also likely retain salary (because they easily can for the next year), which would increase the value of the trade, likely by another 1st or 2nd, depending on the structure of the deal. Again, those picks could get downgraded, but it would likely require a top-line forward coming back in the trade.

Pass on Kane. Don't want the dude accused of sexual assault and staying quiet when his coach was assaulting people on my team.

I would agree he would get an immense return if he had term like Crosby or Big man, and I hold him in a similar regard to those two. This trade would be for one year of Kane and the hope that he resigns. This does not include a negotiated extension before hand.

What do you think is fair value for one year of him, with the possibility that he turns around and resigns in Chicago or somewhere else?

I also think he spends the rest of his career in Chicago, but it is an interesting exercise. Would be funny if he got a big return and then resigned in Chicago after his one season somewhere else.

The value is there. But I doubt Washington is on the list of places he would waive for. I could certainly be wrong, though.

I'd probably do one of the 1sts as a conditional pick if he resigns with the team, otherwise, the pick reverts back to Wash.

LMAO steroids is NOTHING compared to sexually assaulting someone.

And he's the biggest star in Russia, of course the president latched on to him at a young age. He can't do **** about that. You speak out against Puting bad things happen to you and your family. And also, supporting a president (even if they are ****ty) isn't close to being as bad as sexual assault.

It's literally nothing compared to nothing because neither one of them actually happened as far as anyone knows....

I'm surprised the legal system in the US has held up as long as it has with the way you all react to allegations. JFC
