Description

Theoretical swap of a cap friendly Shief for a contract holdout in Tkachuk.. adds can be made to get it done.

Winnipeg puts its faith in Perfetti at 2C and locks up PLD. Top six would be set and raises to be given when wheeler comes off the books.

Heinola is the odd man out on defence; Samberg is built better for the playoffs and the team needs to keep Dillon for some back end size. The point of the trade is to swap Heinola and potential futures for a third line winger - figure Kratsov was a good target.

Risk remains around the strength of the RHD but a tighter system under Trotz could work.

Let's not get it twisted, Tkachuk is wayyyy more valuable than Scheif, which is why I feel like this trade might happen

Well Tkachuk won't be a "hold out". He's a unsigned RFA, who can sign with any team he wants to (maybe not a women's league. Though I admit it's an interesting thought....the trade and two year contract for Tkachuk.

Zero interest in that from a Jets point of view. Tkachuk hasn't been worth his current contract except for this year, so he has no chance of living up to his next contract. Let Calgary pay him.

I agree this trade would be a steal, but there’s no way Drury would be interested in acquiring Heinola. Zac Jones is already a very similar profile but I don’t think he has a guaranteed future here (unlike Schneider for example)

Jets would need to add a lot for MT and the Rangers trade is bad for the Jets
