Strome won't sign that. He has a $3.6M qualifying offer and on top of that arbitration rights. Should he go to arbitration he would likely get around $5M per expert analysis.

A free 3rd round pick, a 24 year old PPG AHL D man and a positional need with tons of cap space? Ok.

Need for someone who is good at that positional need, aka not mrazek.

Islander fans tend to hate on everything posted. But I actually think that's an interesting trade for both side. Nice work!

If theyre super worried about the calder cup, maybe. Pilut may resign in Buffalo, and hes more valuable than a 3rd

Not enough cap space. I've long been of the same idea as you that TOR needs better depth, but Marchment's too expensive this year. Off the top of my head, Balcers (only a 1.5mil cap hit RFA with good underlying numbers) for a late 2022 1st makes sense for TOR. Doubt SJ accepts a 2nd rounder.

Also, Mrazek's more problematic than a 3rd rounder to solve.

Already have that in Laaksonen down there. Pilut is coming back if he gets out of his contract. We don't need another injury prone goalie, had enough ot them the last 2yrs. Sabres Decline

Only way Toronto is ridding themselves of Mrazek is either a 2nd+3rd to BUF or a buyout.

Lmaoooooo. Of course you think its a good deal. Muzzin wasnt good this year at 33 has 2 years left at 5.625 and is a walking concussion meanwhile mayfield is getting paid 1.45 to be a solid top 4 d and at the TDL would get back a 1st (based on chiarot/savard). Kerfoot is useless to nyi as hes another middle 6 forward which is exactly what they dont need. Its a terrible proposition for nyi and leafs fans have to stop overvaluing their players. Isles dont want muzzin (hes a cap dump).

I struggle to see the incentive for NY on this one. A defenseman who with a high cap hit and declining skills and health, and an small forward with a 3.5 cap hit with 1 year left on his contract who averages about 40 points a season on high octane offenses. Not how you would describe NYI. Meanwhile going the other way is an experienced starting goalie and a top 4 D on a great contract. This trade proposal certainly fits Toronto's needs for the upcoming year, cannot say the same for the Islanders.
