Now that is what I call an aggressive off-season

Created by: ecupirate07
Team: 2022-23 Carolina Hurricanes
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 5, 2022
Published: Jun. 5, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Seattle ate half of Kerfoot's deal so we just slide in under the cap ceiling

while trading that package could hurt, Debrincat solves about all of our issues and is young enough that we would re-sign him with little issues.

Chicago should take that... Especially if they're considering rebuild the next 3 years

That's a lot to give up to Chicago, but that is worth it if DeBrincat is the one coming back. I don't know about the need for Jones, but I understand the need for moving Gardiner. The leafs deal I don't like. Holl isn't good and Kerfoot is nice, but I think you could drop the pick and get away with that. I'm not sure though. I'd rather just have Chatfield play 3RD minutes and have Lajoie as an extra.

I like the Giroux signing in theory, I don't know if the player would take that though.

Overall really clever, not a fan of the Toronto move. Really like everything else though

Gardiner and Suzuki are damaged goods, Sellgren is not interesting to CHI we have too many LHD prospects that are as good or better as it is. Really the only pieces of interest to CHI are Necas, Morrow and the 1st, even though it is a very LATE 1st, and Carolina would still have to add.

Chicago would not be interested in that package, if we are giving up DeBrincat we want quality not quantity.

It's a respectable Debrincat offer. Hawks should probably accept it, I'm just not sure

1st off this guy has been dealt to every team on this site that last 3 weeks. 2nd he is a decent player but he is a bottom six center. Please do not Terry and tell me he is the next Wayne Gretzky. He is a decent player on a stacked top 6 team.

Just asking, have you ever been called Richard Cranium, or some form lately?

No need for the name calling, but Kerfoot is worth more as he is a top 9 center that had 50 points that can pk on a cheap deal that stuff doesn't come cheap

I mean Scott Morrow is a VERY good prospect. He's still a prospect for sure, but he's literally the Canes best prospect.

The value here is fine, but I wouldn't do it from a Leafs perspective. Bear doesn't really bring anything that the Leafs lack on D and his QO of $2.5m isn't something they should be willing to offer him. He wouldn't be a full timer in the Leafs' top 6 (barring a significant move) and they can't afford to pay a guy that much to sit in the press box. So really you're looking at a 3rd for both Kerfoot and Holl unless they can find a trade partner for Bear before they have to qualify him, which is unlikely because teams would recognize and take advantage of that situation. I think they'd be better off to go a different route.

If you're worried about Cap...have the Hawks retain 50% this year?

As a Hawks fan, I'm okay with this trade but only if Suzuki has a clean bill of health (See that he's not playing in the playoffs, assume he's injured). If his injuries are serious, would you consider swapping out Suzuki for Drury? Don't really want Gardiner but understand the cap dump. Hate giving up DeBrincat but I do like the haul coming back.

Yea cuz im lazy and don’t feel like recreating Kerfoot at 1.75 mil of a cap hit.

I did put that in the description though

I like the Leafs trade a lot, definitely think its a win-win situation. Leafs get draft capital and a potential top 4 RHD who could pair nicely with Muzzin, Kerfoot matches the middle 6 identity the Canes have carved out and Holl's advanced stats are surprisingly solid.
