No, thanks from the Kings. The trade value is there, but we'll ride our conviction that Byfield is the replacement for Anze Kopitar. I hope we're right.

Miller is practically a top pairing left d man at 22. Othmann is gonna be needed to score goals in another year on his ELC. Byfield likely will be the best player of the 3 when their careers are over, but giving up 3 guys who could play in the lineup with an ELC for only 1 is kinda tough given the cap issues this team has. Well maybe not if they think Jones and Robertson can step into the lineup. Meaning Lindgren - Fox, Jones - Trouba and Robertson- Schneider. You know thinking about it I don’t necessarily hate it.

NYR would be crazy to offer that much for 1 player. And LA has several other players and prospects which would be a good fit with NYR who wouldn't require nearly as much going back. As far as Miller- I'd view him as a foundational piece to this NYR group...wouldn't look to move him unless getting back a bona fide future 1 or 2C (which Byfield is). In reality, though- depending on the progress of Miller and others on the left side- Lindgren would be the guy I'd eventually look to move to open up a spot on the left, while either upgrading another roster spot or recycling for more premium picks.

Miller is the only player of the 4 that has accomplished anything at the NHL level, to this point.

No reason Rangers should be adding so much in a deal.
