Poolman drags down the value and a top 4 RD is more valuable than a small winger. The 2nd makes it an even more emphatic no for the Sens

I think Durzi gets another year in LA to see if hes legit but if they wanted to move him right now thats a pretty fair trade for both teams.
Durzi may have been playing over his head last season and not able to replicate it again. Much like Hoglanders breakout season.
Both are question marks long term but have shown flashes.
I guess what Im trying to say is I dont hate the deal and neither should Canuck fans.
Dermott would be an ok stopgap if LA gets priced out of the big name options.
Good job with that proposal!

Neither Hoglander nor Dermott is on our wish list. Kaliyev (already in the NHL), Grundstrom (already in the NHL), Turcotte and Fa-gem-o are all better prospects than Hoglander and we can sign a veteran free agent LD for our bottom pairing without having to expend an asset to acquire him.

Sens absolutely aren't moving Zub. He's so important to the future of their Blueline, I don't think Ottawa does Zub for Garland 1 for 1. They definitely don't trade Zub + 39th overall pick AND taking back a bad contract to boot.

Yes but compared to most proposals on here this at least is fair and considers both teams needs. Its not an option the Kings will take but at least its considerate and in the ballpark.

Yes, it's definitely fair value. I didn't mean to imply otherwise. I'd just rather have Durzi and Edler or Maatta than Hoglander and Dermott.

Is his career over? I haven't heard anything to that effect. Regardless, that distinction doesn't do a dang thing to change the fact that trading Zub is beyond dumb.

Not arguing on Zub, but the Canucks don't view Poolman as cap dump material even if he is able to get back to health

What about Durzi for Garland?

If they cant sign Forsberg or get Fiala, Debrincat, Nylander level players its a good option.
They really need a high end goal scorer. Garlands style is a good fit but wont make them a contender and has a cap hit that would neuter getting a star player.
But if that trade happened I wouldnt complain. I did love Durzi this year though.
