These Matt murray trades to leafs just keep getting worse. Leafs will not give up kase and a 3rd for a goalie who shouldn't be in our roster.

Leafs will take Murray at 1 million. So the Sens need to buy him out or get another team to retain the extra 2 million.

I got a feeling Murray gets bought out and signs a 1 year 1.5mill deal in Toronto to backup whoever the starter is

Makes no sense moving Kase for him

Toronto, Chicago, and Edmonton don't take those trades, Anaheim takes the Comtois trade and runs.

If Kubalik is not getting QO we don't want those guys coming back for his rights.

Murray won’t get bought out

But y’all think mrazek is a good swap Murray actually played well in January and February when healthy mrazek was the worst goalie that played more then 20 games this season

And y’all want us to retain lol

Here's the thing if they keep him they lose 24 year old Gustavsson to waivers

Dorion won't do that and it would be foolish to do so

Gus is probably getting traded in a package sogaard will take his place as AHL Goalie #1 can’t see Murray being bought out or traded

Comtois for Brannstrom is something I don’t think I would be interested in — all I want to see is a Comtois Zegras Terry line for a year then we can circle back and take Comtois trades if he then has another bad year

Ducks need a player like Comtois a lot more than they need another small Dman

Murray is also the 5th highest paid goalie in the NHL. If the best he can do is "actually played well for two months of the season" he doesn't exactly have a lot of trade value. If Ottawa wants to move Murray it'll be a huge retention and probably a pick attached. That's the financial reality of the NHL. Or they buy him out. Or they keep him on the roster. It's the same problem the Leafs have with Mrazek except Murray is paid close to double.

So if the deal was Mrazek for Murray 50% retained Toronto might do it. They might even add something. But there's no chance they do this deal without retention and moving Mrazek off the books first. And even so, they still might not.

As a sens fan all of these confuse me. The Murray trade we wont get picks back we would be trading picks. comtois doesn't really fit

Nobody thinks either goalie is good for anything. Why do the leafs wants to add another bad goalie.

Sens are already letting Mete walk (no QO) so he doesn't get a pick back

Not sure that's the type of change of scenery move the Ducks would want to do but interesting idea nonetheless.




I don't see why the Sens would buy out Murray as they wouldn't save that much REAL MONEY over the next 4 years. Not worth it.

There's also a very high probability he just ends up on LTIR, so that's 80% paid by the insurance


Sens don't need Kase anyway so IF this was to happen, it would be Murray for Mrazek but for it to work, Leafs would need retention on Murray's and then the Sens wouldn't do it if their contracts are equal

Conclusion : nothing will happen



Why would the Sens lose Gustavsson on waivers? You can carry a 23 men roster and the plan is they'll keep all 3 in the NHL

Murray will spend at least 50% of the time on IR/LTIR anyway
