Doubt Edm can afford that much downgrade in goal,

Wait for the Van fans to show up. Anything less than Kent Johnson, Laine and both your 1sts would be an insult.

Doesn’t make any sense for Vancouver to do that trade. Laine’s next contract likely going to be expensive and regrettable as soon as it’s signed

Adding Laine for two older pieces would be a huge win for Van.

Won’t be the only offer on the table and like I said that’s likely a regrettable contract.

I don't think it will be, he probably signs somewhere in the $8M range, adding Laine to the Canucks powerplay would be deadly.

"Build it up" by making trades to get worse or for players that will only be around for a year.

Laine is a one dimensional winger. Great goal scorer but really not great in other aspects. Would not want to acquire him

Not true but okay, literally he's good at the hardest thing to do but yeah should pass cause his analytics aren't good or whatever.

Tyler Myers would be the worst D on Columbus' roster.

Columbus is building, not trading young and controlled assets for aging assets.

I don't understand trading a goalie for a winger considering we have quite the surplus of them. I think, considering fit, I'd rather have Puljujarvi. I think Yamamoto is good but we don't have a lot of wingers that drive offense and prevent goals against (despite not scoring goals) in the way that Pulju does. You can envision Puljujarvi playing opposite Laine with Roslovic, Johnson and Sillinger where Yamamoto almost requires Sillinger or Jenner or someone different.

Minorly, Eric Robinson is a great role player but he is not worthy of the top 6. He can help take a puck from the D zone to the O zone but he can't really do anything else.

ya and that's why Columbus shouldn't trade for him. Not sure why he would even want to stay in Columbus

Yeah, guess it makes sense to waste prime years of Quinny, Petey and Demko.

They're not going to be wasting the prime years of those three guys by adding picks and prospects. Go educate yourself on the Canucks competitive outlook before you make a bold statement like that

Oh geez, educate yourself! You might draft the next Brendan Gaunce, that guy will surely help the Canucks reach the next level! Those picks and prospects will take some time before they're contributors and that's if they pan out so yeah it would be wasting those guys primes or at the very least wasting their current contracts.

Nope, wrong again. Canucks will manage to turn themselves into a contender before Hughes and Demko's contracts are up, that's what new management is working towards, they're not on some wild goose chase. They'll sign college and european free agents to help restock their prospect pipeline, and they'll sign non-tendered RFA's to give them better opportunities than the previously had

I guess Detroit has wasted Larkin's current contract
