If Winnipeg is trading Pionk, swap him for Appleton and the 3rd and The oilers will add to Pulji.

I don't hate the deal from the OTT side, but you probably don't get a 2 and a 3. Maybe just the 2 or a 3 and supplemental 5.

Pionk has scored at a 45 point pace the last 3yrs and played top 4 mins I don't think asking for a 2nd and 3rd is to much unless you are really valuing 1 yr of brown which I am not. He's not a cap dump but he doesn't hold great value either.

Detroit declines. Not interested in Dillon and Harkins is a bottom 6 ceiling guy. There is still a very high ceiling on Zadina and we're not moving him without seeing what he can do with a new coach and some consistent linemates first and certainly not for an unimpressive return.

If Detriot is looking for a vet Dman and rumors are that they are Dillon is a really good option. His season hasn't great last year but the 3 seasons before that with good coaching he was a very good defensive top 4 dmen. At 3.9mil for 2 years he fits well and is off the books when the young guys need to be paid and played. He's been a good PKer most of his career and isn't just big he can actually play. So why would the jets trade him... well he was more value and is easier to trade than Schmidt and jets have 2 young LD that need to start getting nhl mins.

I think Dubois gets the Trouba treatment -- 1yr deal after an arbitration filing and then dealt in the summer of next year if he still wants to test the UFA market in 2024. It could be accelerated is if he signs an offer sheet or the Jets get blown away with a great trade proposal, but I doubt either of those happen.

I agree and Detroit could just resign Staal and not have to give up Zadina. Dillon is better but there isn't much difference in their numbers.

Dillon doesn't move the needle at all, we'd be better off re-signing Staal over trading for Dillon.

I have a feeling that you are severely undervaluing Connor Brown.

Ottawa declines.

We'll be happy to take Schmidt off your hands for a 3rd round pick but Dillon isn't a good fit for what we need,

I would rather trade Schmidt for a 3rd so deal.

Brown definitely has a lot more value than you're giving him credit for. Plays a textbook, defensive, 200-foot game and still plays at an over 0.5ppg clip, he's a genuinely incredibly high-end penalty killer, and will be a coaches darling who'll play minimum, north of 18 minutes a night. if the Sens retain half, it means a team is getting 40 points and high-end defensive play and penalty killing for less than 2M. he absolutely holds far more value than you think
