Holy I had no Idea Barbashev just dropped 60 pts and 26 goals this year. St Louis is going to decline that for sure.

Yeah he's a good player for sure, but his contract is up next year, St.Louis probably won't resign him and I think Muzzin will be valuable for a team like St.Louis who is cheap in actual dollars and is a steady top 4 man

Wow that offer for one of the best goalies in the game on a team that’s in no rush to trade him is absolutely atrocious.

Why do we keep seeing Anthony Stolarz to Toronto trades? There's no urgency for us to move a perfectly good backup goalie who practically led the League last season in that category, especially for a bottom-pairing rental defenseman and a guy who would be behind Urho Vaakanainen, Simon Benoit, Brendan Guhle, Olen Zellweger, Jackson LaCombe, Henry Thrun, and Tyson Hinds on our depth chart at LD.

Nothing even of slight interest for Winnipeg in that deal.

You know Helly and Campbell have had very similar numbers in the past three years. The only good from the trade is getting rid of Mrzarek.
But if the Leafs sign Campbell for 5m buy out Mrzarek at 1.1 per year.....that's the same cap as Hellbuyck. And the Leafs keep Niemela, Hirovean and the 1st.

Actual dollars means nothing to the Blues and steady is rather generous. They are not doing anything resembling this.

Wow. You really just put Jack Campbell in the same conversation as Connor Hellebuyck. You probably just looked at GAA and sv%, which, sure, they're similar, but they're heavily influenced by the team play around them. Let's look at GSAE (Goals saved above expected), and GSAE/60 (Goals saved above expected per 60 minutes), courtesy of Moneypuck.com:

2019-20:
Hellebuyck: 58 games, 24.2 GSAE, 0.444 GSAE/60
Campbell: 26 games (split between LA and TOR but you said past three years), -7.0 GSAE, -0.268 GSAE/60

2020-21:
Hellebuyck: 45 games, 19.3 GSAE, 0.445 GSAE/60
Campbell: 22 games, 8.4 GSAE, 0.392 GSAE/60

2021-22:
Hellebuyck: 66 games, 16.7 GSAE, 0.257 GSAE/60
Campbell: 49 games, -2.3 GSAE, -0.049 GSAE/60

Hellebuyck is a much, much better goalie than Jack Campbell. Please do not delude yourself thinking they are similar caliber goaltenders.

Kinda strange when so many think the Leafs have horrible Dmen and the goalies have been their saviours.

Actual dollars mean nothing to good teams, it's all about that cap hit. Toronto fans constantly bring up actual salary like it truly means anything to anyone except Arizona

The leafs dmen when they feel like it can insulate a goalie quite well, example, the first few games of Erik Kallgren.
