Sorry Dubas thank you Holland hello Wright goodbye Bert

Created by: DatsyukianDekes13

Initial Creation Date: Jul. 6, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Yes I know 90% of this is unrealistic. Stevie would probably do none of these moves let alone all 5, but it would be fun. And I think the deals are pretty even (except for Pool but Holland is dumb and would probably take just a 3rd for him, and likely not enough for Samso but idk what Washington would want and its more of a filler deal. And it wouldn't have to be Samso it is any 1B). D core is a little young but should still be miles better than last season. Not sure New Jersey accepts but I don't think its far off. Top 9 can be pretty fluid, Sharangovich can play top, Pool can play 3rd, Berggren could be tried at C if we wanted, or move Ras in the top 9 at W or even back to C. But I like the configuration it currently has. Could also sign Trocheck / trade Fabbri+Zadina for W. Karlsson. Then Wright can either play 3C, stay 2C or go back to the minors. Lots of options

Hronek is a solid young top 4 D and I personally don't value Petry very highly with his age, steep decline last season, and his hefty contract, but he is a Michigan guy and I needed a vet on the blueline. Habs deal only happens if they are truly 50/50 on Wright/Slaf. Otherwise they take Wright (as they should) and Detroit stays put at 2 and takes Cooley.

Bert is a stud. 30+ goal point-per-game top line winger. They get the top line winger they reportedly are looking for, and they still pick in the top 10 and likely get Savoie/Lekkerimaki. I don't see why NJ wouldn't do that

The Wings aren't trading their goalie of the future to move up 1 spot in the draft. If the asking price was that insanely high they just stay at 2 and pick Cooley. Not a big enough gap from Wright to Cooley

So if that gets us 2nd overall just keep it draft Cooley and be happy. No need to spend more to get a comparable player in wright.

What drugs are you on ? We go down one spot and replace Petry with another top 4 RHD a decade younger and he throw McIsaac that I can’t see becoming a NHLer but still just the 1st for 2nd OA and Petry vs Hronek swap is worth it for MTL

I don't think its a ton more to pay to get Wright in this scenario. Petry would provide a much needed Vet presence with the insanely young d core. I see a gap from Cooley to Wright, but not massive, so if the asking price was any higher than my offer I wouldn't do it. Petry's contract sucks but it doesn't matter at all in Detroit

Bertuzzi has never been a point per game. He has had one 30 goal season. He is 27, with one year left before he hits free agency. He is unvaccinated.
Sharangovich is 24, and is an RFA next summer. He played top line minutes this year, scoring a 25 goal, 50 point pace.

That's why.

Vaccine likely wont matter for playing time next season. Devils would obviously only do this if Bert is extended (and he can play fully unvaxed, which I assume he will be able to). And he was pretty much point per game last year, was all season up until Blashill stuck him with Fabbri and Suter and his production dropped off. And Larkin got hurt mid-season, tried playing through it for a while but wasn't the same. With Hughes and Bratt, Bert would easily be point per game in NJ and be a definite upgrade on Sharangovich. I think it makes a ton of sense for them personally. Would never hapoen but would be fair imo if it did. Maybe Detroit adds slightly but I wouldn't think they would have to

Redwings should 100% make that offersheet. But only a one year then negotiate a long term deal. He isn't looking for big money just playing time. Sandin isn't top pair material just yet but he certainly has the tools and I would be shocked if he didn't reach that potential. Sandin/seider would be an amazing pair.

I've always been a fan of dubas but this massive **** up with Sandin is 100% his fault and he is too stubborn to fix it. Should cost him his job.

Comparable player possibly but not a comparable Centre. I have my doubts that Cooley will be an nhl centre.

There is no way NJ accepts that. Then Detroit quite easily rejects the Montreal and and Edmonton trades. The Washington trade could go either way but there are less expensive options for a back up.

The Devils couldn't extend until after the draft, at the open of free agency, so there are no guarantees. Makes no sense.

That's a lot to happen between now and tomorrow night...

I'd rather keep the younger, team controlled 20 goal scorer over the older, pending ufa 30 goal scorer. Never mind moving down the in draft for the swap.

Sharangovich and Wright/Slaf/Cooley is better than Bertuzzi and Savoie/Lekkerimaki no matter what way you slice it. Devils decline.

There is much doubt about Cooley being an nhl centre. I see him shifting over as a scoring winger. Much like marner and nylander.
