That’s more for Dach then they got for Cat….. at max I’d give 12 and Robinson or Nyquist not both, plus a 2nd.

Then what is that contract?!??? 7.5 mil for 26 points?!?

If they’re getting 12OA, they aren’t getting Robinson, Gus, and a 2nd without adding.

Even then, Dach had a rough year, feels like his stock is down.

As it fits for CBJ…I wouldn’t be angry if we got Dach. Would be fun to see him, Silly, and Rosy battle out the T9. For the first time in god knows how long we’d actually have depth at C.

And that contract…I’d give him a three year bridge in the $1.7M-$2.3M range. He’s got a ton of potential, but has really only shown flashes. Nowhere near enough of a body of work to get $7.5M and a walk to UFA.

that's impressively bad for columbus. Wild what a 20 point player is worth to some people

Also, are we sure CHI even wants to trade with CBJ anymore? 😬

The 12th pick would very likely get it done for Kirby, and I would expect him to sign somewhere in the range of 3m to 4m per year for 3 years.

If I may, what has he done to earn $3M-$4M per season?

Answer can’t include the words/phrases “eventually,” “potential,” “down the line,” “develop,” or “could be.”

Why give so much up for him, especially when you see what happened with Cat. And then the contract on top of it?

I think he deserves like 2-2.5m but being a high draft pick tends to get you paid more than you deserve early on. Not saying its the right thing to pay him 3-4m, but he probably will get more than he deserves because he will likely be on a rebuilding team with money to burn as a project piece.

The response was just to point out that he way overpaid both trade and contract.

It’s not that deep.
