Cap dump central

Created by: Christian17
Team: 2022-23 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 13, 2022
Published: Jul. 13, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Obviously the Ducks wouldn’t make all these trades however I could see a few of them working. Ducks would miss the playoffs handily and have a glut of draft picks going into the 2023 draft.

Honestly the price could be higher as it’s probable that Muzzin wouldn’t consider going anywhere else with his NMC other than back to SoCal

      3. 2023 3rd round pick (PIT)
      Additional Details:
LA needs space to sign Durzi and Vilardi and possibly add. Quick’s contract is bad.

Muzzin is a decent dman when healthy just on an inflated contract on Toronto team that can’t afford him.

I saw LA fans clamouring for a Muzzin trade but with his cap hit the only way they’d be able to fit him and still compete is this kind of trade.

If that's your breakdown than the leafs pay a second to Arizona to do the retention on his way through to LA, that's just greed.

So Toronto gives you a 1st and a 2nd to dump Muzzin's $5.625M on the Ducks...

...who then turn around and get LA to not only give them a 1st and a 3rd for Muzzin with retention, but they also throw in one of their franchise icons so he can go down the road and be backup for their closest geographic rival.

I mean, you know that's ridiculous right? If LA -really- wanted Muzzin, and he was willing to waive for that deal, it would be miles easier for LA & Toronto to throw a pair of mid-round picks at Buffalo or whoever to eat the $2.8125 you're eating here, instead of both teams dumping 1st rounders. Cut out the middleman and all that.

Can we interest you in a slightly used Nyquist or Voracek? Or perhaps even a Bjorkstrand?
