I'm a Leaf fan too, but the Wings have a deeeeep forward group.

Are the best 2 players maple leafs? Yes. But depth is an issue for the maple leafs, it isn't for the Wings.

Detroit has the worst defense in the division. I don’t understand the Detroit hype.

I’d check for a gas leak or something. There is no way Wings forward group is better than Leafs, whether it is top 2 vs top 2 or top 4 vs top 4 or top 12 vs top 12. Get a grip

I'd love to hear your rationale for your Pacific ranking. LA at the top seems a little optimistic, but Anaheim in 3rd place seems downright crazy. Calgary and Vegas missing the playoffs? I wouldn't bet on that if I were you.

I dont understand how Columbus and the Isles are over the pens here. I mean sure the Jackets added Gaudreau but they dont have that #1 or even #1 center. There offense isnt even close to the pens even with the addition of Gaudreau

The Jackets scored 11 fewer goals than Pittsburgh last year. Their offense is very solid considering how young the team is. It's defense and goaltending that are the question marks going into the season. Goaltending might be fine if Elvis is a bit more focused and able to handle his grieving better. The defense is totally up in the air as to how much they've been able to develop with most of them having proper NHL experience now and another off-season to train.

Calgary - I'm thinking the loss of Gaudreau might trigger a movement of Tkachuk, and if so, that offense is a fraction of what it was last year. I wouldn't count on a top 6 of Coleman-Lindholm-Toffoli/Pelletier-Backlund-Mangiapane to be playoff bound

Vegas - I really think the Golden Knights are seeing the consequences of acting as if there is no salary cap the past few years. I cannot see how a team that gave Patches away in addition to the losses they had to make the past 2 years as cap casualties would be better than this current year's team.

Vegas had a lot of injuries this season though. If you look at their roster they're still miles better than Anaheim (3rd? WTF??), LA and Calgary.

I didnt mean It like that. I'm just saying that their offense compared to Pittsburgh isn't close. Also we were without Malkin, Rust, and Crosby for a lot of those games. Again, I'm not saying their offense is bad, but they still have a little work to do on all three positions to be a contender imo
