Barrett Hayton should not be your 2C if you plan on contending

hayton could be a ways away from being a 2c. it would be nice to get him off arizona to see what he can do. i guess that's probably the best you can get if you're only giving up sandin. 1st + robertson would be a good starting point for someone like miller with retention.

Need to send a draft pick to Detroit if you are trying to unload Holl, not receive one.

A first and Robertson is not a starting place. A first and Liligren is. Last thing the Canucks need is a winger. He wouldn’t crack our lineup even in 3 years. Seeing as how Dubas does not care about first round picks (10 games of Nock Foligno for a first, dumping Mrazek and Marleau with a first), I doubt it had much value either

Canucks don’t need Sandin. We have Hughes OEL and Rathbone. Neither Hughes or OEL are going anywhere. It’s quite simple, if the Leafs don’t want to part ways with their valuable assets, they simply won’t be able to acquire other valuable players

i dont think that's a concern for the leafs when they have tavares as a 2c option. they aren't going to go into the season with holl on their 2nd pair.

Thank you! When did this crazy opinion of Tavares not being able to play 2C come about? I’ve seen it several times now.

allegedly they were thinking about moving around the top 6 after the playoffs. i think the concern was tavares and nylander not having chemistry.

Meanwhile, Seattle likely passes. Of course, you never know with Francis.

Well he's not the 2c, he's a 2c. Tavares can still play there against tough opponents & take important faceoffs. So Hayton can grow into the role slowly (give Tavares nights/time off).

Detroit does not now, nor ever, want:
Kerfoot, Holl or Muzzin, regardless of cost.

Maybe he can grow but he’s shown nothing that indicates he’s more than a third liner

But maybe they would if we keep making Kerfoot, Holl, and Muzzin trades to Detroit

Tavares had the second best faceoff percentage last year and was close to a point a game, why is everyone thinking he has to move to the wing???
