My last Tkachuck offer

Created by: KDev
Team: 2022-23 New Jersey Devils
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 22, 2022
Published: Jul. 22, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Reports are saying Calgary is looking for a top forward, blue chip prospect and a high pick…
They’ll most certainly be asking for Bratt or Mercer but I don’t think Fitz is going to be to keen on giving either up and pushes Sharangovich with an extra incentive.

That's not a bad offer but they may insist on a more proven commodity in Bratt - they are giving up the better, more proven player in Tkachuk, right? So Bratt, Holtz, Tatar (to balance the cap) and a 1st should do it and you get to keep Mercer and Sharangovich. That's still a pretty good deal for the Devils. I do imagine MT would want the 8th year.

Nah can’t see the Devils giving up Bratt with Holtz and a 1st as well. The kid is a year younger than MT and just put up 73 points. I really think the devils will do all they can to avoid trading Bratt or Mercer in a deal for MT

The offer you made isn't a bad one and the Flames might take it but if they insisted on Bratt or Mercer, is there a prospect further down the list that is still good but not one you'd be too upset at losing? I mean, the Flames just lost BOTH of their top scoring wings, one for absolutely nothing, and need to get a lot back in this deal.

As a outsider I think it way too much to give up for Tkachuk. Seem to gutting too many positions to obtain one player. No need for Jersey to rush, if necessary just hold onto the cap and sign a UFA, if not this season next season. Hey it might even be Tkachuk.

I think if the insisted on Bratt, it would probably be something like Bratt a protected 1st and maybe like a 3rd or 4th
Mercer would probably be with a protected 1st and maybe someone like Muk and a 3rd or 4th..

The only way I see the team moving on from Bratt is if he still holding out on his contract dispute and it’s just not getting resolved.

I think the thing is devils fan see is a player we do not have in the system. Tkachuck brings a style of play the devils do not have anywhere in the lineup. A goal-scoring power forward who just scored over 100 points. Those just don’t grow on trees and the devils cupboards are full of premium assets that they can afford to pay the premium for the caliber of player Tkachuck is.

Guess they can always threaten to send him to Calgary, LOL.

And I know it’s been discussed but it doesn’t seem like the flames have a whole lot of leverage to make a deal work. Not to mention a deal will only work if Tkachuck is willing to sign an extension at that team so between assets, fit and cap room to make it work the Devils do make a lot of sense. I’m not getting my hopes up but I do think adding Tkachuck to this top 6 can make it elite

They can't extract a lot but if a team believes MT would be transformative for them, they should be willing to part with some good pieces to get him. I agree that Tkachuk would be an excellent add for NJ and would be worth giving up some good young pieces to acquire.

Only Sharangovich and Holtz meet the ask. Do them and a 1st to protect Bratt and Mercer

Tkachuk scored 40 goals and 100 points last season, a deal for him would start with Bratt and a 1st. Btw, Treliving blocks your number the moment you bring up Tatar unless you also mention the words "additional 2nd round pick"

I'm fine with trading Bratt, a 1st, and prospects for Tkachuk, but I'm not trading Holtz or Mercer too.

If you're including Bratt in the deal, then Calgary can pick 2 of the following: Foote, Mukhamadullin, Gritysuk, Stillman, or some other 2nd tier prospect.

Without Bratt, then go ahead and trade Holtz or Mercer.

Ugh yes you can. The fact devils have been a bottom 10 team in the league for 4 years in a row now makes the pick extremely valuable even if it is top 5 protected. 0 chance the devils give Calgary an extra lottery ticket for Bedard, Michkov or Fantelli

The ask is just that, an ask. All of these trades are grand until the trade gets done.
Myself, I would not give Bratt or Sharo. Holtz, a first and a cap dump with a small add (which from our pool is not a bad add)

Let him run to StL who will have to trade Kyrou and move Tank.

Not hardball so much as reality

The ask would be Bratt and then New Jersey hardballs it into the reality of Sharangovich.

Not with a 1st included. Bratt is real close to Kyrou and they are not asking for a 1st

Ask for Bratt +
Get to Holtz, a first +

AZ is still waiting on that Chychrun return, hows that going for them. MT is worth a ton, but not a ton +
