There is simply no situation where NYI will trade Dobson. He outproduced Werenski at the same age and is trending towards a legitimate #1

Dobson is not being moved, is already signed and will be announced Sept. 1st.

There’s no path to trading for Dobson using JT Miller. VAN could add a 1st + prospect and the isles wouldn’t do it, doesn’t fill their needs.

I wish there was a deal here, but unless Lou has entered some sort of senility, NYI don’t consider trading Dobson for Miller as the central piece coming back.

The Province doesn’t seem like a credible source for trade rumors. The article was literally just poorly written and inaccurate speculation.

If the islanders were going to move Dobson you need to get a guy of similar age and talent back. The Canucks aren’t trading Pettersson for him so there isn’t a deal here.

Vancouver would a lot, to the point where they would be too uncomfortable to make the deal. Dobson isn't available

Yeah but Miller couldn’t be the center piece either.

I was really hoping these proposals would go away. They are kind of ridiculous at this point.

A good rule of thumb is that if the Canucks wouldn’t trade Hughes for this package then the Islanders wouldn’t trade Dobson

Don’t try comparing Barzal or Dobson to Pettersson or Hughes. Barzal and Dobson aren’t as good as Pettersson or Hughes because they don’t play for Vancouver!!!

Teacher: There are no dumb questions:

Student: Is JT Miller for Noah Dobson fair or do the isles need to add to the deal?

Teacher: That’s a ****ing stupid question.

Except for the fact that Hughes and Pettersson are absolutely better players than Dobson and Barzal? I agree that the isles aren’t trading Dobson but I see you on every forum acting like he’s Cale makar.

Lmao that’s not what it is. I just wouldn’t trade him for a 29 year old center on an expiring deal.

Pettersson isn’t better but that’s just my opinion. I tend to value guys who can create at a high level in transition which is something Barzal excels at. But Barzal is legit passing to trash.

It’s entirely about the size of Dobson and the fact it’s harder to find righties.

With Barzal V Pettersson I just prefer Barzal style wise. I love Pettersson’s game and I’d be happy with either guy. But you can’t teach Barzal’s skating ability and he has a righty shot. Both of those things come into play here for me. Imo Barzal is way more talented than his production indicates. Whether he will ever reach his full potential with this roster is an entirely different question.
