Description

Matthews is going to walk as a FA after 2 seasons anyways. Why not trade him for the absolute max value you can get now and retool it? Thing are obviously not working so try shake up a winning culture. Perfect cap balance for both sides as well.

Sorokin isn’t available in any deal. Much less one where a MATT MURRAY comes back to the island.

Also let’s not pretend Reilly is better than Pelech. Dude couldn’t guard a parked car.

End of the day Mathews, Holl and Murray aren’t worth Barzal, Pelech, Mayfield and Sorokin. You are basically trading two cap dumps and Mathews for four good players. One of whom is a high end starting goalie. Makes no sense dude.

Again he’s phenomenal. But ur legit trading 2 all stars and a goalie who should’ve been an all star for Mathews and two cap dumps. Be realistic here. The isles can’t take on that much trash. How the hell would they resign him?
