  1. Läck, Eddie ($1,325,000 retained)
CAR
  1. 2018 6th round pick (ARI)
2.
TOR
  1. Pulock, Ryan
Additional Details:
The price for an RHD is steep. This is likely an overpayment for an unknown commodity at the NHL level. However I think Pulock fits into the age range of the Leafs core and would be worth looking into. NYI has some decisions to make prior to the expansion draft as they will only be able to protect 3 of Boychuk, Leddy, Hamonic, Pulock, Hickey, De Haan.
NYI
  1. Dermott, Travis
  2. Rychel, Kerby
  3. 2017 4th round pick (PIT)
  4. 2018 2nd round pick (SJS)

Pulock exempt from the expansion draft so trade would have to stand on it's own merit, and I think that's an overpay by Toronto! Dermott and a pick should be enough!

1. Pulock isnt exempt
2. I still wouldnt take that because I think Pulock has a shot to be a legit top 2 defenseman

Just saw Pulock listed on the capfriendly expansion tool, so I'm not 100% sure. Also maybe TOR would give up their 2017 1st as opposed to the 2nd rounder

Pulock is eligible to be drafted. Folks think the" Games Remaining " have meaning towards a players draft eligibility. It doesn't. The trade....good thoughts. I've seen Dermot enough to think is going to a NHL Dman for sure. Leafs might even lined up to take UFA Gardiner's spot in 2019. Let's imagine Dermot and Pulock are equal in projections. Dermot isn't draft eligible and Pulock is. RHD is a benefit for the the Isles in the draft.
Rychel is a maybe NHLer, as would be the two picks. Maybe it's an overpay for the Leafs somewhat, but certainly a very reasonable trade.
Like the signing also. Fair prices.
Regarding the lineup. Komarov is LWer, so the Leafs would prefer to keep Fehr. Leivo might be Vegas bound. If Rychel was left exposed by the Isles, he might be selected too.

I doubt the leafs would give up a first in that trade but I could be wrong as for the lineup swap Fehr for smith

I know its mostly just Dubas pumping Dermotts tires but he called him maybe the best AHL defenseman prospect so they're really high on him

I, myself, don't think it's enough for Pulock. I think he'll be a top 2 defenseman.

I think Dubas might have meant, the best Dman at age in the AHL. Yes, that might be a stretch, but yes, he does have long term NHL potential.

I get why Leaf fans keep throwing out Rychel in all these trade scenarios - he's not even a top 10 Leaf prospect - but what makes you think the NYI or anyone else would want him either??

I'm not a fan of this trade because Rychel is still a prime target for VGK. I think if Pulock is dealt it will be in a package for someone like a Duchene type player

Gee, I think sending a package which included Pulock for Duchene would be awful for Isles. What makes Duchene so special.? And he's a UFA in two years

Rychel has really climbed up the depth chart and is probably our 3 best prospect (behind Kapanen and Leipsic)
I would rather him play 4th line over Martin but that won't happen
