"Here we broke our defensman , pay us for him"
We're out until he's got atleast 30 games in

After seeing what a Broken Sternum did to Polak who's tough as nails and way bigger taking a hit maybe half as hard
I got no interest in Girard until he's played atleast 2-3 games at 25-30 minutes ice time which takes him roughly 30 games in the past.
We arent paying for a top pair D who cant play top pair anymore because he broke his sternum as we have a Dozen D prospects pegged for 2nd/3rd pair, We're Good

This is a ****ty trade for both sides

Colorado gets Dvorak who will help and Anderson who is overlaid while they will need that cap space for resigning key pieces in the next two years. Plus they trade a very good but not great top 4 defenseman

The Habs get a guy in his prime already when they need younger guys or futures plus lesser pieces.

What are you talking about, he didn’t have a career ending injury, he isn’t even going to miss any time to start the season,

Forget the value of the trade which COL doesn’t do, the trade takes them over the cap by over $1M.

The salary cap exists and that's an awful offer for the Avs.
