Actually I'd say they're closer than you think

Ducks laugh at that offer

McTavish is the most untouchable prospect in the league

Not sure why you think they add a second there on top of him as well

Just brutal

I can't see Verbeek trading McTavish. Guy is a battering ram who can score.

Dubas needs to clear cap not swap for the same cap hit Swaney and O'Rourke are solid prospects Hartman is more valuable (playing with talent) then Greenway and dumba combined. Would you it be 2023 1st and a 2024 2nd instead the existing picks?

McTavish isn't getting moved for anyone not named McDavid.
Marner starts with Rossi or I guess Boldy.

Lol. The guy even has the audacity to put him as 1C. The trade settings of NHL 96 would have even rejected this.

So take out Anahiem's 2nd and throw in a top defensive prospect like Jack Peart or Marshall Warren?

No, the Ducks arent trading him,

Surely not underwhelming defence prospects when the Ducks have a loaded pipeline of defence prospects

There is no scenario the Wild can get McTavish

Not even Kaprisov honestly

Ducks are in a different spot in their rebuild now. They have quality prospects who are now about to produce at the NHL level. They have no desire to trade their future. Unless somehow their lineup could include McDavid, Kaprisov, and Hedmen there is zero reason for them to move McTavish, Zegras, and Drysdale.

Edit: Btw I am not comparing McTavish to McDavid, Zegras to Kapri, Dry to Hedmen, I am simply stating that this is the Ducks core, and so far looks like a heck of a core. So unless they can get a core in return that instantly makes them a Cup contender there is no reason to move any of them.

McTavish is going to be the next Toews. And he plays center. Marners stats are padded by Matthew's and Tavares.

I'm not the biggest Marner fan but he's a regular season points machine no matter who he plays with. Tavares had his best season as a Leaf playing with Marner. Tavares has clearly lost a step now and is declining. Still a very good player but not what he was when Toronto signed him.

1. Why the hell would Anaheim trade one or not the best prospect in the NHL. McTavish just lit it up in the World Juniors and he was a big reason why Canada won the Championship. McTavish has a lot of trade value and even though the world juniors aren’t as good as the NHL still McTavish is worth more than those players.
2. If teams trade superstars, you gotta get something bigger than that. You traded a solid top six player for a legit superstar. Marner won’t be traded either way or another.

McTavish is a potential All-Star, and a probable first-line forward. Greenway is a third-line forward, or at least he would be on the Ducks. (There's a reason why we allowed Sonny Milano and Sam Steel to walk this year.) Dumba is a rental, which is effectively useless to a team that won't make the playoffs in 2023; if he would re-sign with Anaheim when his contract is up, we can wait until next summer. We have a better C prospect than Khusnutdinov in Nathan Gaucher.

One year of Matt Dumba for the second is reasonable.

I could see us tossing Mini's third for Dumba at the TDL after moving Klingberg out on the condition that he would resign for a reasonable salary. Assuming Minnesota couldn't shop him to a contender as a rental and he/they don't want to resign with each other.

Lot of variables that need to break in a specific way for that to happen, but there's a chance.

I think he has to go to a competitor to get a 2nd.

I will also parrot, anyone who thought we would move McTavish before his WJC performance had probably had a few pints. Anyone who thinks we would move him now has to be piss drunk or they found the GOOD **** in the medicine cabinet.

I'm not even sure I would give him up for Bedard at this point, not that i'm saying McTavish is superior to Bedard as a player, but he fits the Ducks timeline and needs better than Bedard does.

McTavish outplayed Bedard in the WJC. I still believe Bedard will be better. But Ducks fans are right to be excited.

Oh no, the guy who thinks a guy who might be a top 15 prospect is better than a guy who just put up 35 goals and 97 points in 72 games while playing on one of the best penalty kills in the league thinks the leafa are over rates. What ever will i do?
Oh right, laugh at him for saying silly things because he thinks making fun of the leafs will make people on the internet like him better

He's a Rangers fan, and did you not watch the WJC at all? There's no reason to think McTavish won't become as good as Marner.
