DeBrusk deal sucks for Boston. Salo and Beauvillier deals suck for NYI. Absolutely brutal.

Why would Boston want Varlamov when they already have Swayman and Ullmark? And Grzelcyk is out until Mid-November so he's not getting moved.

Boston is probably the last team in the league the would trade for a goalie. Lol.

Don’t want anything to do with either of those two.

If that's the price for Beau, 30 other teams would like a word.

So you went the opposite way? That's a ghastly return for a solid young player.

Alex lives in Minnesota and has a complete no movement/ no trade after his extension. So you aren't getting him to waive. His a Minnesota born player who never left.

God this is awful. The ANA and MIN deals are horrible for NYI yet somehow the BOS deal might be even worse for them. Goligoski declines as well.

Aho and Salo are pretty useless filler though. Aho in particular is either going to not make the team and end up on waivers or make the team and force a different guy onto waivers. I'd say just drop those two guys from the Isles side and the 3rd from the Ducks.

Regardless, the Isles parting with a 1st in this trade feels like a big stretch even if it gets them a 2nd back.

-Easiest pass from Boston. Not only do they already have Linus Ullmark & Jeremy Swayman under contract for next season already, both of them put up better numbers than Varly did last season. Beyond that, Boston doesn't have the room for this kinda deal - the cap is even as far as the trade but Boston is going to need to replace Zboril/Grzelcyk so at the very *least* they add 2 guys making $750K to a team that's already over the cap.

-Weird overpay here. Stolarz is a decent backup goalie on a good contract. He's not a goalie worth a 24 year old LD prospect that looked good in his first NA season and a swap out of the 2023 1st round. He's probably worth a 2nd/4th at best.

-No need to make this trade at all. If you have the first 2 trades on the books, you already have 7 D signed for the season and none of them are waivers exempt, and that's before you get to the fact that you're trading a 25 year old speedy winger for a 37 year old LHD with a full NMC. So many reasons this trade is just extra.

Agreed I doubt he waives, I personally think he will play out this year get his 1000 game silver stick and then retire. I am assuming he will rotate as 3rd pair dman with Merrill and Kulikov unless there are injury's, so there could be a lot of press box duty for him which he might just say f-it and retire. I am not 100% positive but I think his contract is like Flowers (35+) where if he retires after this year his last year comes off the books.

He has had a hell of a career!
