I’m sure the Jets could live with that return although they would probably want more. I don’t think they would want to deal with Anderson’s contract, however he does fill the positional need of a right shot middle six winger so I don’t know.

Not even close for Pierre-Luc Dubois, Josh Anderson not even worth his contract. And Kirby Dachs value has sunk.

And sorry. But MacKenzie Weegar isn't a nearly $9,500,000 per season Dman. He's no Moritz Seider that's for sure.

    1. Edmundson is nowhere near worth a 2nd and a prospect. A late round pick would be more like it.

    2. Devils aren’t interested in Edmundson. They’ll have Siegenthaler and Hughes in the top 4, and Okhotiuk, Walsh, Bahl and Smith fighting it out for the 3LHD spot.

Not a chance the Jets take any of Montreal's many cap dumps back. You're on your own to get rid of Anderson, Hoffman, Armia, etc. The Jets aren't touching any of those contracts.

With Nurse making 9.2, Werenski making 9.5, Seth Jones making 9.5 That is in the ballpark of what Weegar will get. I don’t think you realize how good he is. He’s a top 5 Dman in the league defensively and puts up just as many points as those guys. When Seider gets paid it’ll be in the 11 mill range.

Ben Chiarot just went for a 1st, 5th and a prospect. Maybe you should re-think that.

Jets have no choice. If you’re sending 6 mill out you will have to take money back in any trade. This is common sense.

He’s one of the best defenseman in the league. Elite defensively, will give you 40+ points. Go look at what defenseman have been getting paid. Sorry I’m realistic.

Weegar will probably come in the $7,500,000 to $8,000,000 per range. He's not nearly as good as Nurse, Werenski and Jones. And i live near South Florida and i have seen Weegar play numerous times. He's worth nowhere near $9,500,000.

He’s better than Jones, way better than Nurse and in the Werenski range though Werenski is better. He’s elite. One of the best defenseman in the league based on every metric.

Of course the Jets have a choice. What kind of silly, unrealistic thinking makes you think they don't?

This trade will be next summer when more teams have cap space, so the Jets won't need to take back cap dumps.

Montreal's cap problems are their own and Winnipeg isn't obligated to help them out for free. That's common sense.

You might want to look at the year again then. This is 2023-24. They’re taking money back. Not only that but you already know Chevy loves Anderson, he wants him. These old school GM’s love these guys. Your opinion means nothing.

Aw, you're a little upset that someone brought reality into your silly proposal.

Common sense and everything that has happened this summer demonstrates that cap dumps will cost to move. Anderson being a long term cap dump will cost at least a first or two to dump.

As I said 23/24 in the summer lots of teams will have cap space, so it shouldn't be an issue. The Jets might take cap back but it won't be dead cap like Anderson, it will be useful players.

Educate yourself a little on how trades work so you don't come off sounding so ignorant on the reality of trades.

No you didn’t bring reality into this trade proposal, you brought your opinion into it. Just because a fan doesn’t like a player doesn’t mean their teams GM doesn’t like a player. I’m sure you’ve disliked many of Chevy’s moves just like you would dislike this one. I’ll give you some reality, I’ll take Friedman and Lebrun’s knowledge when they said many teams would be interested in Anderson and Mtl will get a hefty return, over yours, some nobody. I always laugh when fans develop this dislike for certain players that GM’s for some reason love. “X player is terrible, my team will never sign/trade for that guy” … “Why did they sign X player to that contract!?” (Repeat cycle). You’re going to have to come to terms with the fact that your opinion means nothing here.

The funny thing is I was being generous with that trade. Jets likely won’t even get that much considering he will only sign with a few teams. Any team trading for him will want him to come with an extension, or he’ll be a rental. They’ll be lucky to get a late 1st and a B prospect, maybe someone will throw in a 2nd rounder as well, for what will essentially be a rental at that point. Jets are screwed with no leverage here. I think knowing that is what has you so upset.
