I like his game, but he's basically become the new Lupul. In seven NHL season he's played over 70 games twice.

Isles don’t really have cap space to spare given the fact Barzy and even Wally need extensions. Also that’s just not enough to take on McGinn anyway.

Gone are the days when Habs fans insisted Josh Anderson = 13th overall draft pick.

If Anderson had one year left, maybe. With 5 years and a NTC it's a hard pass for the Pens

Thats being pretty ignorance of context and using some agressive hyperbole.

He has been a full time nhler for only 6 seasons not 7.

He missed 4 games in 20-21. He has 121 games over the past 2 seasons which wpuld put him 5th on the pens over the same span.

From 16-17 to 18-19 he played 223 games which was 4th among pens players.

Outside his surgery year injury time lost hasnt been anything noteworthy

Well first, you're spinning this and being dishonest.

I clearly stated he played two full seasons, which was the 16/17 season and 18/19 season. You lumping in the 17/18 season where he missed 19 games is misleading to suit your argument, so stop.

20/21 was a short season, so given his history I'm willing to bet he would have sustained more injuries. The 19/20 season he missed 38 games including the playoffs. Let's not forget that there was a huge break that season until they did the playoff bubble, so he would have missed almost the entire season.

Last season he played 69 games. He got injured in January missing 11 games and then got injured AGAIN with a completely different injry shortly after he returned.

He's a rotating door of injury and for a team like the Pens who already have so many injury issues, investing $5.5M over five years is a VERY bad move.

Get your facts straight.

MTL passes easily, not trading draft picks during a rebuild. Andersons contract is going to age horribly but if he's that much of an injury risk we'll keep him until he's LTIRetired. Thanks for coming out though.

People can hate his contract on this site all they want, Habs management have turned down offers for him, good offers. They see him as a piece they can keep through this rebuild.

Pens decline and it's not even close. Not taking on a huge camp dump for that long just to get a few mid picks and dump 1 year of zucker. He's got negative value. Habs fans love to pretend every player they have is amazing. Yet somehow their team has been mired in mediocracy for nearly a decade.

I mean, I understand what you're saying by mediocrity for a decade. Very inconsistent - but in that decade: two ECF appearances, a SCF appearance, a hundred point season, a 50 win season, two division championships and a conference regular season title.

Anderson is grossly overpaid, and the Habs have been mediocre since 1993, but in their good years in the past decade, they've been pretty good years to be honest.

My Leafs haven't had near the success they've had.

In the last decade the Habs rank 23rd in the NHL in regular season wins. They owe their random playoff success to one player and to the covid season.
The leafs rank 14th in wins. While they don't have the same playoff results the leafs are still the better team. Of the last decade and probably even the next 5 years as well.
