Hugues should explore it, we have an abundance of LHD in the pipeline.

Fair point but you don't give a guy an "A" on his sweater and ship him out at the TDL in the same season.

We don't have the cap for Monahan, but a decent idea.

Seattle gave Giordano the “C” and traded him at the deadline.

Ok I'll rephrase, MTL won't give a guy a letter on his sweater and then trade him at the TDL in the same season.

They could definitely do that. Very few players on Montreal should be untouchable. Even if they have a letter on their Jersey. Right now Caufield, Suzuki, Slafkovski are the only players I would 100% not move if I were montreal. A few others I would be hesistant to move but those are my only true untouchables. Guhle and Mailloux would be right up there as well.

While all of that is possible, you're dealing with "would" "could" and "should". The most likely scenario is that Eddy does not go anywhere this season simply because they see him as a leader and we're trying to develop younger players through a rebuild making him the kind of player we need.

Anyway Eddy has a back injury and teams are probably scare to trade a 1st + for him

In the pipeline doesn't mean they are ready. As a fact, most of them won't even develop as regular NHLers. Hyped much?

Isn't would, should and could what this site is all about? You could plug one of those into every single ACGM post.

Ok but in Montreal's current state does it make sense to not trade for a position they don't even know if they will need?

Washington has far too many forwards as it is, they don't need another middle 6 guy when Protas, Lapierre, Snively, Jonsson-Fjallby, and Leason will all be needing and fighting for incredibly limited chances at the roster anyway. Dadonov is unnecessary in DC, even at 50% retention.

Edmundson is "out indefinitely" so he needs to show he's actually, y'know, able to play NHL games before teams are going to give up a 1st and a prospect for him.

Drouin wouldn't play in the top-9 in Edmonton, and if they have the cap space why use it for a guy who has averaged fewer than 20 points in each of the past 3 seasons?
