Nieto / Labanc trade; COL looks for third-line scoring in Labanc and a 4th line Penalty Killer in Nieto in an attempt to repeat (Johnson is an unfortunate cap casualty for COL)

Meier trade; TOR looks to shake things up for playoff run, Adding an elite power forward and depth at goaltending (assuming Murray or Samsonov are hurt) (Kerfoot is cap move) (Gregor is a potential bottom 6 addition for TOR as well)

So Mier is about as good as Nylander, has a year less on his contract and has an absolute monster of a QO next season and then the leafs also downgrade feom kerfoot to gregor and give up a 1st for riemer?

COL biggest need is a 2C solution and neither player address’ that need. I don’t see them freeing up the cap space than not addressing that need.

Nope


Nope, Leafs easily accept this one. I almost guarantee that Leafs have to add if they want a power forward. He is a rare breed in the NHL, he will cost a lot

Not that the value is bad per se, but let’s start with the problems in the COL trade, 1) EJ blocks 2) that doesn’t do anything to address COL real issue at C.

y is Toronto trading 2 very good players and only receiving Meier? Reimer and Gregor we don't need cuz they r bad.
