Looking for Help

Created by: MNCountryClub
Team: 2022-23 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 31, 2022
Published: Oct. 31, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Need help identifying some heavier players that could possibly be available.

Jost has shown flashes of skill, but he just doesn't fit with the Wild's idea of a bottom 6. Guerin loves bruisers and I think this team needs a little more jam.

These trades are just placeholders to show the type of players I'm looking for - not meant to be legitimate values.

Any pure bottom 6 guys that your team would consider shipping out in a Jost deal?

I will give you Derek Grant for a half bag of pucks, and a moldy gatorade bottle.

Hmm....can you make it a Zegras game-drank BioSteel juice box instead?

Yes, but you'll have to send back an autographed Sam Steel jersey, because we miss our sweet baby angel (even though he is not good...)

Caps really love Hathaway. Unless you're going to really overpay I don't think they move him.

Simmonds might still be available but seems like no one wanted him.

yeah that's fair - I kinda figured as much, but wanted to check just in case.

Good call, forgot about Simmer - fits the bill for this thread.

If the injuries to Foligno, Hartman and Greenway up being longer than expected, I wouldn't mind Guerin looking into Simmer as a tough, vet leader to help backfill.

If Jost isn't a fit in the Wild's bottom 6 why would he be in Washington's?

There’s a place for guys like Tyson Jost, and it’s called Mullet Arena. If he’s gonna figure his game out anywhere, then it will have to be there.

Matt Martin is a Lou guy, he won’t be traded.

Because this isn't Junior B and teams have different systems/asks for their players? I have no idea what WASH wants or needs from their 3rd line guys. With the injuries to Oshie and Brown, maybe they're looking a player who isn't strictly bottom 6. Maybe they want a guy that can flex up and down or a PK specialist.

Hathaway is certainly a better bottom 6 player than Jost is, but Jost is a much more capable top-6 fill-in. He's also younger, RFA and higher potential. It is plausible that another GM would value that more than a pending UFA.

I think Martin is very loyal to Lou and vice versa. I cant see that he will play anywhere but the Island till he can not play no more

That was my thought too, but I had noticed some Isles ACGMs sending him out at TDL.

Consider him removed from this list.

I don’t think Isles fans would mind if he was traded, but that Lou connection would most likely stop him from being moved.
