I mean, 2023 1st+ for Klingberg is spot on but Robertson doesn’t excite me — that’s just me though

I cannot see any reason why the Devils would give Severson up for that.
The only pieces that'd make some sense to base a Severson deal on would include one of Nylander, Knies or Robertson imo.

If the Leafs are giving up Nylander for Severson the Devils need to be sending considerably more with him, he's on a bargain contract for another year. Knies isn't going in a Severson deal either.

I think the way he's playing, the Ducks will be lucky to get that for him.

Lol that is what Leafs fans on here do. "just throw together a bunch a players we don't want" -> Quantity over quality

Feels like they may have to pay a bit more than Robertson depending on how Verbeek views the Drysdale injury. Feels to me like he may ask for more now that we know Drysdale is done for the year.

That Devils deal is a joke, right? You're literally giving them N O T H I N G they'd want, much less given them a deal they can afford. Engvall & Holl are pending UFAs that they don't need - they're paying Andreas Johansson $3.4M to play in the AHL, what makes you think they have room for Engvall? And while Holl is a fine player, Jersey has a handful of guys they'd easily pull up to play RD3 if they moved Severson (Simon Nemec is playing in Utica as we speak.) Dahlstrom is literally out for the rest of the year and is a pending UFA, so including him in a trade is useless. The 2024 2nd would cover the retention, I guess, which means you're basically equating Severson & Abruzzese in value.

Devils decline, easily.

I wouldn't trade another high draft pick for a defensemen, Dubas has done this on numerous occasions and the value has not been great.

I'd take the Anaheim deal if you throw Holl in.

It would give me great pleasure to throw in Holl, especially considering the NJ guys are ripping me apart for the other trade

I know my compatriot @GeneralLandro is not very excited by little Robo, but I think him and McTavish could do some dirty things to the league in a year or two. As to Holl, we just lost Drysdale for the season, so we can't afford to send out a RD without taking one back as well.
