We are not interested in Barrie, but if you want Evans we would take Bourgault! We need Kovacevic so far and won't move him.

Why would you pay a first to acquire a fourth liner who isn't very cheap? Kovacevic seems like an alright depth defenceman but that's still alot to dump Barrie. That 1st could be used to significantly improve the team not just very slightly improve the team maybe.

Would prefer not to trade Jake. Maybe in the offseason if Beck is 100% ready.

One of Monahan or Dvorak are available if you are interested? But the price is gonna be higher than you may want to pay.

I think it depends on whether Hughes knows he can move Barrie at the trade deadline. If there's some unknown value then yes, if he truly is the cap dump we think he is and can't be moved for anything, no

I wouldn't. A 2nd for Evans could be enough, but if they want MTL to take Barrie's contract, switch the 2nd to a 2024 1st. If they want to add Kovacevic, make it a 2023 1st instead.

Healthy Jake Evans is worth more than taking Barrie + a 2nd, but Evans one or two concussions away to die vs a 2nd and taking Barrie is a good question mark
That 2nd round pick have 25% chance to play in the NHL while Evans is a NHLer right now and 26 yo

"Je persiste et signe" This cannot happen. If the Habs want to trade a player they picked up on waivers in the same year, he first has to be offered to any other team who made a waiver claim on him at no cost.

Maybe no other team wanted a 25 year old 6'4" LHRD for less than 800K for 3 years... But I doubt it ..
