Were not making the playoffs

Created by: spicybois
Team: 2022-23 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 14, 2022
Published: Nov. 14, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
To get to 100pts and make the playoffs, Sens have to win ~44 of their next 68 games. It isn't happening. Hopefully new ownership brings in a competent GM and coach for next season.

not as far away as you think.. you have the forwards to make the playoffs and the goalies when theyre on their games, you just have the leafs problem from a couple years ago in not having any RD after a guy like Zub. once you guys get that D man you'll win more games

How many games you need to win isn't a good way to look at it because overtime losses exist and are rather common. Points % gives a much better expectation for whats needed. For the Sens to hit 100 points, they'll need to play a little bit over a .650 rate for the rest of the season. To put that into perspective, thats a 107ish point pace over the full 82 games. It's definitely do able but the Sens will need to figure out the goals against side of their game in a hurry.

Wins alone maybe isn't the best way to look at it but I'm not sure how .393 turns into .650 when you're missing your top C and top D for the foreseeable future and your defense was already bottom tier.

If the Jets are in a playoff spot, they will definitely need to add some toughness...I'd take that Watson deal all day.

Sens need 96-97 points, not 100 to make the playoffs. That being said it will be an uphill battle.

It's not going to take 100 this year Florida and Toronto are coming back to the pack . 96 should do it. NYR, Pittsburgh Washington all also not getting as many points as last year.

They were last year too in the standings. He wasn't taking shots, just saying that Toronto and Florida will be closer in pts to the teams competing for 3rd in the division and wild card spots.

they've taken 11 of 28 possible points so far and are missing Norris, Zub and Chabot. even if it's 96 and not 100, I think they're done before November is. needed a strong start and got more of the same.
