If he was playing like he did in the first 10 games of the season I could see an extension, you can see his play slowing already as it did last year as the season went on. If he were to sign under a million I have no issue with an extension for him to play 30-40 games a year more than that and I think it’s a mistake. Pat Maroon’s time in TB is the ideal structure for a Looch deal.

I agree with @yycofred, if it's under $1mil/yr on a year to year basis and we use him sparingly, fine, but he needs load management to stay rested and healthy to play his peak game. Anything less is undesirable. When Lucic is skating around lost in our own Defensive end, it's like watching as if we're on the Penalty Kill = no bueno

Why move Rasmus? That's too good of a defenseman and contract. If we're going with a 5'7" guy, let's give Phillips a look.
