LA probably says yes because that's a hilarious underpay for Matthews - Byfield has big upside, sure, but if you told me I could have Auston friggin' Matthews at the cost of a top-6 wing, a middle pair LD, and two prospects (without giving up a single pick) I think I say yes.
The other 4 are all easy passes, IMO - Seattle is currently 2nd in their division, so I can't see them trading two middle-6 wingers for a guy who's (at best) a lateral move and a younger player at a position they're pretty stocked at. If they were in the tank I could see them doing it but it's giving out more than they should for a team playing well.
Islanders easily pass - Jarnkrok and Beau are probably equal value, which means the rest of the trade is pending UFA Bunting & Ottawa's 3rd for Wahlstrom. Bunting needs a new contract and honestly needs to show he can produce without Matthews/Marner/Nylander on his line; Wahlstrom is still on the last year of his ELC and it would be extremely surprising for him to have a higher cap hit next year than Bunting. Value just isn't there for New York to make the deal.
Colorado passes here, too - I think they'd rather have 24 year old Sam Girard with 4x$5M left than 32 year old TJ Brodie with 1x$5M left, simple as that.
Absolutely no way that Vegas trades their starting goaltender when they're the top team in the Western Conference - the rest of the deal isn't pretty, either, but that's the #1 reason why they pass.
