Initial Creation Date: Dec. 15, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
1.) Carlo for Garland is moving a local product home. Money is similar. Term is similar. Think BOS will want some additional depth for the stretch and his contract is solid for a player who historically has had solid 5v5 scoring.

2.) Dumba for Boeser is also moving a local product home. The key for VAN though is they would not retain Dumba, rather would have a deal in place with TOR to flip him in exchange for some of their expiring pieces in Holl and Kerfoot. As Dumba is a serviceable Top4 D, the rental price is a 2nd and a prospect; I picked Knies, but honestly it could be Niemela or Robertson.

3.) Holl would goto SEA for depth in exchange for 3rd round pick to aid in the playoff chase.

4.) Rathbone is stuck behind Hughes, OEL for a top4 pairing. He is a solid Dman at the AHL level but needs a new home. Think the LAK with their plethora of RHD would be a solid suitor for a 1 for 1 prospect swap. Grans has been bypassed on the depth chart and Rathbone would give them another option on the LHD side,

5.) Horvat goes to CAR. I assume he would get an extension. The exchange of Kotkaniemi helps on the money side and helps address VANs need for an NHL 20something Centre. CAR fans tell me that Morrow is out of the question, so VAN goes with a '19 3rd rounder in Honka and the prerequisite 1st round pick.

Boeser is a cap dump and isn't worth Dumba. Boeser at this point isn't worth Kerfoot or Holl. Canuck fans seem to have this weird idea that TO is going to just hand them a big bag of goods for nothing.

Jack Rathbone wants to play in the NHL, he'd have to jump Durzi, Edler, Bjornfot, and Moverare to do such. He'd be just as annoyed in our system as he is in Abb.

Boeser being local doesn't mean anything when you're saddled with 14M in dead cap - it ain't happening.

Also, Dumba's cap hit could be 2 bucks and he still isn't returning Knies+ lol.

Boston does not need a RW. They do need Carlo.

Forget value. Logistics alone is terrible. Value isn’t great either.

Boston declines
Minnesota doesn’t have the future cap for Boeser
Leafs would decline that
Canucks pass on the Carolina trade

Value is fine, it's only the logistics that are off

True, I don't think the valuation difference is any more than a 2nd

In a vacuum it’s not to far apart.

When realizing there is nobody in the system anywhere close to NHL ready for RD and Clifton will walk in offseason too, that gap becomes Grand Canyon, though that speaks more to logistics.

You think Clifton will walk? He can't be that expensive to keep, his game has come back down to Earth lately. He's mobile yes, but his hockey IQ isn't much to write home about

4 goals and a healthy scratch for a 6.5 million dollar player that can't skate well. He is not worth his contract right now.

It's not just about goals, he's scoring at around a .65 point pace

Don't kid yourself. For Boeser it's about goals. Vancouver would not trade for a player they have no shot of signing and Dumba refuses to begin with.

How would you know that Dumba won't re-sign? I'm not sure the Canucks are even interested in him as a player
