No way he goes unqualified though. He’s one of the few players that Hynes and Pole don’t idiotically mismanage

You don’t seriously believe that Nashville will let one of their better trade pieces go for free. I get that this situation would be the most ideal possibility for Ottawa, but why would you want to wait. His value is arguably at its lowest and you could get a legitimate top 4 RHD for cheaper than you would normally pay. Not to mention, you could start having him build chemistry with one of Chabot or Sanderson, and worst case scenario you can recoup the assets spent on him.

and maybe if the Sens don't QO Sanderson the Leafs can have him too ...

ofc Sanderson > Fabbro, but that's how ridiculous this sounds.

Well, lets imagine Preds don't match or even offer Fabbro a contract, then the Sens chance of signing him is one in thirty one.

Since when is Lassi Thomson a blue chip prospect anyway?

He's the one thing we got out of the Matt Duchene fiasco.

FWIW, Chicago let Strome and Kubalik go for free.

    You never know.

Doesn't make him a blue chip prospect.
