No trolling. The fact is, Bratt’s camp is looking for in excess of $8 million. And I’m not confident the Devils should or will meet that demand. I believe his long-term extension ask will be 7 x $8.425M (roughly). And I think Meier at 8 x $7.5 or at exactly $8M is better value.

Yes. 8x8 should get it done. Devils comfortable with that cap hit

Meier is the best power forward in the NHL, i think this makes sense if you want to balance the skill/toughness of the roster. SJ will probably want prospect back though since they are years from being good and in somewhat cap hell.

While true, SJ does get a 1st and can move Bratt at the ‘24 deadline. I think his camp wants $8.5M + and that just screams like a player that might have the best shot at getting that by going to market.

There is absolutely 0% chance we move Bratt AND a 1st for Meier.

Bratt could demand 8 x 10m and it'd still be worth it for the Devils.
8 x 8.45m would be amazing for Bratt.
He's stupid good.
