No one is paying to get miller, let alone with the contract he comes with. Only player NYR will give that package up for is Pettersson, which you will in turn say “when he11 freezes over” and where conversations on this stop.. so yeah great job

????? Sens aren't taking on more cap by acquiring Myers and expect the Sens to give up a first too?
Rangers or no team wants Miller for seven full seasons, at 8m or even 6m

Rangers can't afford Millers $8,000,000 salary cap long term.

Reports were that Zaitsev turned down an offer to waive for a certain team. And reportedly that team was Vancouver for Tyler Myers.

I’m not saying he’s good, but could Dorian be more of a baby when it comes to the Zaitsev deal? Hate to be that guy, but the Sens r the team that traded FOR Travis Hamonic. But you can’t live with Zaitsev? For real?

The Sens aren’t moving a 2023 1st. They’re also trying to clear cap not take extra so they can sign Debrincat. This puts them further back

Need the cap next year for Debrincat , a backup goalie, bottom 6 depth and re-signing a couple depth rfas

For forward depth you can just look at the waiver wire. Emil Bemstrom, Klim Kostin, Julien Gauthier are just a few of the guys who cleared waivers this year.

I think Nashville absolutely accepts that deal value-wise, but it would screw their cap next year.

Oh I agree. The 3rd line next year will likely be : Greig-Pinto-Joseph. Pinto will get a similar 2 year deal to Necas or Thomas got , 2.9 for 2 years. That will end at the same time as the Giroux deal.

4th line can be filled internally for cheap.

JBD should get a 2 year deal around 900k per.
I’d love for them to replace Brannstrom with a physical 3rd pair LD for 1 year at 1-2 mill but that would also be the Brannstrom price range if they keep him. Someone like Simek would be great tho.

They need a top 4RD but not sure if the cap will work.

They also need a 1 year 2 mill backup goalie to bridge 1 year to get to Sogard as the backup

Maybe try and dump Zaitsev after his bonus has been paid. At that point you may be able to dump him for a second.

Pinto at 2 and 5.00 M
JBD at 2 and 2.8 M

Imo the year after yes. But if they do sometning like Joseph for Simek and replace Joseph with signing Motte then I’d be down for that.

Tkachuk-Stutzle-Giroux
Debrincat-Norris-Batherson
Greig-Pinto-XXX/Nyquist/JVR?
Kelly-Kastelic-Motte

Chabot-XXX
Sanderson-Zub
Simek-JBD

Forsberg
Backup/Raanta?

Also if they end up trading Debrincat because he doesn’t wanna stay, I wouldn’t want futures. A Debrincat trade should do 3 things:

Get a 2nd line player replacement (example Mangiapane)
Get an ELC that could step in (example Wolf, Pelletier, Zary)
Gives them cap space (a trade like that likely frees up like 3 mil)

Sign Severson, Dumba, Jensen with the cap space created from not signing Cat to 9 mill.

I’m not a Simek guy. If I were Ottawa I would be looking at acquiring a young d man with size or draft capital and a prospect in a Joseph trade. Toronto seems like a good trading partner tbh.

Once he stops laughing, Drury says no thanks and counter offers Libor Hajek and Ryan Carpenter for Podkolzin and a 1st round pick.

The first two trades heavily favour the Canucks. The Nashville one is terrible for the Canucks. Retaining that much for 4 years and only getting a 3rd?

All rumours are pointing to a longterm extension. And no the Sens will not be taking on Myers .
