So you want a higher pick and to stick the Jackets with a cap dump by giving up a lower pick? How does that work?

Hoffman is only making 3.5 million, we are taking Robinson who is make 2 million roughly. Add a 4th rounder to that trade and it evens out. Hoffman would fit the blue jackets lineup playing an average of 15 minutes. He is a versatile player that can play up and down the lineup. Hoffman is a far better player then Robinson if you play him with the proper line mates

Why do the Jackets want Hoffman? They are in a rebuild and don't have a need for him. Why would they want to miss out on Carlsson/Michkov/Fantili? This makes zero sense for them. They can just keep their guy and get the better pick. They aren't trying to compete so Hoffman is a waste of cap space for them

To move from a 6th overall pick to the 2nd overall pick in a draft that can have multiple franchise players is going to need a lot more than a ****ty 3rd-4th line winger and a fourth. Montreal would need to trade at least both of their first-round picks just for Columbus to consider answering the phone.

Honestly, this is somewhere between delusional and a complete stretch at absolute best. Not 1 GM in the league would move back in this draft for that return.

Hoffman is a waste of cap space for any team, not just Columbus.

Kinda rough when you have to cut 1 mil off Hoffman's contract and add 400k to Robinson's to try to make that seem somehow like a positive thing. In reality you're dumping $2.9M in cap on the Jackets which is probably worth around a 2nd round pick alone. That means the Jackets are essentially paying to move down in the draft in this scenario you've proposed. Not exactly something that they would find appealing.

Although I agree with most of everyone else's comments here...I see your account is a newer one when it comes to trade ideas, less then 5 posts. So...

Promise it's not always this hard of an entry , just gotta put extra thought into your offers, do you best to not think one sided in trades and you'll get more positive responses. Also helps to get an understanding of how fans of other teams see their own franchise and assets, so you can see things from their side.
