Not for that brutal package. Try Nemec, Holtz, and two firsts.

What about that package is brutal? You have a 2023 1st, one of the top RHD prospects in the world, a legit middle six center, and a winger prospect who looks legit

I’d be disappointed with that return for Pettersson

I think if Petey was traded, this would be extremely close to the return. Eichel-like.

Tuch (similar production to Sharangovich at time of trade), first round pick, top prospect (nemec clears Krebs by a mile), 2nd rounder (probably gritsyuk's value at this point, as KHL rookie of the year and 2nd line PNHLe)

and you don't even need to send a 3rd back to us.

Sharangovich is nearly the player Tuch is and also eichel was coming off a major surgery and there were serious questions about his health.

Eichel was coming off a major surgery and there were serious questions about his long term health. Also Tuch is now a legit first line player don’t see Sharongovic having that same upside

yeah but nemec is way more valuable than krebs.

Also, Sharangovich is very close to equivalent value to Tuch's when the trade went down (not sure if that's what you meant or not)

There was a significant market for Eichel regardless because many teams were perfectly okay with the surgery, as it'd been done in the NFL and UFC with no ill effects. The only questions about his health were allegedly in the Buffalo front office.

Tuch in Vegas: 61-78-139 in 249 games (0.56 ppg). Age 24
Sharangovich in NJ: 50-43-93 in 171 games (0.54ppg). Age 24

Yeah sure but Pettersson is one of the best players in the league on a ****ty team. He's gonna put up 100pts and is considered completely untouchable by Canucks management. Canucks would want a monster package for him like San Jose wants three firsts for EK65 retained 15%.

His agent said he loves VAN but not losing this much and that their likely going to start talking about an extension on July 1, he wont be moved unless he demands out and rn it doesnt seem like he'd demand to be moved

If I'm Vancouver I push for Mercer over Sharangovich - if they're moving Petey they're going full, burn it all the ground rebuild. Sharangovich is actually a few months older than Pete (June 1998 vs. November 1998) so I'd want the younger guy. I think the Devils still make that deal, though - even if the price is a little higher than what the Knights paid for Eichel, I'd argue it's worth it for a player in Petterssen who's a year younger than Eichel was when he was traded, has a lower cap hit ($7.35M vs. $10M), and doesn't come with the injury concerns Eichel had at the time of the trade.

We aren’t trading a solid backup for a more expensive injury prone goalie along with a cap dump

I already laid out that they were at the time of the trade.

And to your upside comment, Nemecs upside is WAY higher than Krebs so it’s a wash at worst.

He’s almost exactly the player Tuch was at the time of the trade, though.

Anaheim is going to decline that. We think Stolarz is worth a 3rs at the TDL on his contract, Blackwood has no value to us (at best) due to his injury history and QO, and Johnson is straight up cap dump.

Going to need to make that a hell of a lot sweeter for Anaheim to consider.

I guess it would not be a smart thing to do that.
But hell for Pete I would do it and I would even tell the canucks front office who they will have to bribe in order to win the lottery this year...

I'm echoing my two esteemed friends but to me, BLACKWOOD is the cap dump; Johnsson is merely worthless because he's a UFA and an AHL player.
