NYR decline, there is just nothing of interest there. Besides I think Laffy will morph into a center, between Panarin and Kravtsov, within the following months.
Even if it is in 10 range, it does not compensate enough to do this.

Its not a bad try but that is definitely not enough for Lafreniere, maybe the Habs pick top 3 protected along with something else. Perhaps picking 4th or 5th overall in this very deep draft would help start a conversation but even then you would have to add. It might not be worth it for the Habs at that point either. The Edmunston trade seems fine

Its fine except the rangers deal. If that Florida pick is like 7th or 8th and you include it then it's a lot more appealing.

COL is currently in 11th spot in the west, a lottery spot. Monahan was a cap dump this summer that hasn’t played in over a month? Do you think ANY team in the league is trading a potential lottery pick on Monahan? No, no they aren’t. These Monahan trades to anybody for a first are ridiculous.

Well the rangers trade needs adjusting since Montreal doesn't and won't have Jesse's rights given that offer with Edmonton. Very very very very fast decline.
