Why would LA trade a quality defenseman for a guy that is out for the rest of the season?

Once again Newhook doesn't get moved for a rental in Bo Horvat. And Colorado doesn't have the salary cap to sign Horvat long term.

Two of our top 6 wingers are on the IR list and each of the 6 wingers on the three top lines now are more valuable than Tanner Pearson, so we wouldn't be interested in him even if he were free.

Ummm.... Guys, not that I don't totally agree with you two, but the trade is for Brock. Which I think makes even less sense for the Avs, but they have Brock going to Washington also. First pick one team only to trade a player to and then we all can tell you what we think. And in this case, it is not helpful with both teams. And, no Bo doesn't work if that is who you really wanted to trade.

Nah you just don't understand, this is a Benning- I mean Rutherford masterclass, just make two teams pay for the same player!
