I don't know how true but the only reason Minnesota is supposedly thinking of moving Greenway is because he doesn't use his size all the time to his advantage. Will it be even less after the shoulder injury. I like the thought though.

First line is incorrect. He essentially didn’t show up for a game and forced the Wild to play 11 forwards 7 defensemen since they didn’t have any extra forwards on that day. Two other forwards were injured in that game and it forced guys like Kaprizov to play something like 25 or 26 minutes. He put the team in a bad spot and Guerin/Dean were/are pissed about it. Reported by Russo of The Athletic.

I like the Greenway addition for the Sabres - @ wild fans, what would be a realistic return for him? What do you guys need?

Replace Matt Roy with Alex Iafallo and you have a deal. Then you don't need the dubious Greenway.

No way Greenway. Sabres took years to purge that bull**** from the room. Wouldn't take him on waivers.

BTW, Jost is working out nicely. Thanks.

While adding Iafallo would be perfect, getting him for an early, mid and late second round picks is too pricey for me. On the other hand since he was raised just 20 minutes from Key Center and he could elevate his game as Tuch did, three seconds would be a bargain

...BTW, Jost is working out nicely. Thanks. Yes Jost is. Picking up first round picks for free (remember how well Lazar worked out) is a bonus.
Let's just say the Sabres keep Casey and Victor, pass on Greenway, while adding Iafallo and find different defensemen.
Iafallo >>> Greenway and Alex is a local product.

I don't think that you can fairly evaluate Ryan Johnson as equivalent to a second-round pick because the assumption, not only the OP's here but out where I live, is that Johnson might well spurn you in order to sign with LA when Buffalo's rights expire in the summer if you don't move those rights now.

It wasn't that he didn't show up, it was that he was late and missed meetings. It was the 2nd time this season he had missed pregame meetings so they scratched him as a punitive measure.

The phrasing I used is exactly the phrasing Russo used.

Ok. That's just not the phrasing I saw. In the game story from that night he said: "Greenway was back after arriving significantly after the Wild’s 4 p.m. meetings for a 6 p.m. game Sunday night against the Blues, multiple team sources told The Athletic."

It’s in one of his podcasts. He might have been hyperbolic, but that’s the phrasing he said.
