Another stab at Kulich
The issue with this trade is the sabres are in need of impact top 6 forwards, any trade that includes Kulich will see him packaged with other assets to acquire something big. There isn't much value for the sabres in the pieces you're giving us - bottom pair defensemen are easy to find. You're trying to trade away expendable pieces for A-level prospect. I mean, come on, you can't be shocked sabres fans are shooting this down easily.

I know, but this website is littered with trades where the sabres only trade olofsson, rosen, ostlund, and bryson. Feels like if we end up with a really good NHLer it is going to hurt a little

You're right, my bad I forgot about the RFA aspect

I think you're right, Swayman would be a good fit for sabres. Not sure if he gets a first only because bruins need to trade either him or ullmark. Swayman would be great, I think you'd get 2nd, 3rd and a prospect

Trade everyone but matthews
In a vacuum that sabres trade is pretty good, but with reports TML might buy out Brodie, I don't think there is any chance the Sabres help out a division rival's cap by trading for him. That being said, it's a fair proposal I think, maybe only getting one of seconds because of the leverage

That's fair, I was thinking PP guy for you. Basically he's a 25-30 goal guy but Sabres need to move on from him, change of scenery for both sides. He's all offense.

Would be too fun to watch
The team would play even faster than they do now, and you're right it'd be a blast to watch. But I feel like after this season it just doesnt make sense, we'd have $30m in 3 defensemen soon (dahlin will get $11ish and power they should sign long term for 9-10ish I imagine). Interesting thought though, his contract is just so long. And San Jose wont pay $12.5m in retention

I think JOhnson is from northern California, not sure if that influences his decision, but he may be more apt to sign there. I hope he stays in Buffalo tbh, I think where sabres are now he would fit perfectly on the 3rd pair.

I think that all of Sean Walker, Sean Durzi and Jordan Spence are available, but I don't see another LhD on your roster who would interest us, so we'd be talking about those two early seconds.</div></div>
In this case, Samuelsson wouldn't be available from the Sabres so Roy is your samuelsson. Good insight though, much appreciated from you and everyone else. fun exercise

Joki plays well when paired with one of our 1st overall picks, Power or Dahlin. Otherwise, he's a 3rd liner.

You called it on Dahlin, he probably gets more in the $11m range. But other than that, I think it looks great. No idea what Power would get, thinking he'll get closer to 9 if they can pull it off. Excited for future

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Buffalove</b></div><div>Are you a Sabres fan?
Bc these trades are all pretty rough for us:
-Overpaying for Murphy
-idk why we’d want LaBanc, so a 2nd for him seems like a bad idea
-and you’re just giving away Mitts & Olofsson- brutal</div></div>
Murphy is a big defensive defenseman with good underlying numbers on a bad team signed for another 3 years, hes a top 4 guy who can play with Power. What exactly about that trade do you hate? We have so many wingers, so dealing kisakov is a luxury, and the 2nd round pick we have 3. Can't sign everyone.
Labanc is good 5v5 and a vet who will fill in 3rd line. 2nd round pick might be rich, maybe a 3rd would be better.
Olofsson is a $4m PP specialist who is demoted to the 2nd PP and offers very little 5v5. He won't fetch anything more than that.
Mitts is similar.

What will it cost
I appreciate the effort, you're searching for a goalie for the division rival Habs, but he's clearly the best college goalie prospect and probably the best NA goalie prospect and everyone knows it. With how difficult finding a good goalie is and how inconsistent goaltending is, there is less than 1% chance the Sabres trade him in the next 3-5 years. Just no reason to do it whatsoever, so making up a price isn't even worth it. The Sabres are also searching for a long term goalie, they have Luukkonen and I think the hope is one of them becomes the long term solution.

This is why there is so much cap space, none of the dollar amounts make sense. Dahlin is getting long term and $10m+ easily, Power will sign 6 years or so for $8m+, Cozens will get close to $7m, and no way asplund, okposo and girgensons are taking $900k contracts with $22m of space. I dont think there will be any hometown discounts.

23-24 sabes
I know no one reads the description on top, but basically the players in the trades are interchangeable. The idea here is I think the Sabres need to start weaponizing their cap, draft capital and prospect pool. As a fan, it's a longer wait for these prospects than we need. Krug - whatever, my point there is we should trade for a veteran defensemen. Petterson is awesome and I'd throw in Kulich or Ostlund to get that done as well, but the bigger idea here is we should try to get some one like him on a team that might be considering a rebuild.
Eichel went for 3 first round pick equivalents and a 2nd rounder, and he had term left. He had the neck thing, so maybe Petterson gets a similar type deal, and we throw in a 2nd? Olofsson is a 25 goal scorer. Vancouver would get a top 10 pick in 2023, jack quinn, oloffson, and another pick or prospect. I dont think the Sabres would need to add "quite a bit more" - this is all under the premise that Vancouver continues to struggle this year, begins to sell off assets, and gets a top 3 pick and can take one of the stud C's in the draft (bedard, fantilli, or carlsson)

This is every trade on this site, here are our mid level prospects we don't want for your best player. I'm a Sabres fan and this is just so unrealistic. If we are getting Robertson, a trade would have to start at Cozens or Savoie and a first for a 24 year old 80 point guy.

Sabres - blasphemy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shibbal18</b></div><div>This argument is pretty invalid. We saw what a difference Anderson made. The Sabres are ready to compete now as well. And the year after next season, they bring up Levi under Hellebuyck for a season, the timing works out great. Buffalo is giving up pieces of its young core, and goalies do not carry the same value as an equally talent forward or dman</div></div>
They are not ready to compete yet. They have had a good month and are still 23 points back of the last wild card spot! As fans we need to not get our hopes up and I hope management doesn't try something like this to rush them forward like Murray did. They look so much better but lets not kid ourselves, we might be competing to be "in the hunt" for the last wild card spot around this time next year and that'd be substantial growth.

The Foligno deal is only 1 year, so any overpayment would be manageable. He's from Buffalo, so he might sign here. Luckily this is make believe, so I didn't have to negotiate with him or hear him tell me he would never sign with the Sabres.
Ullmark is a UFA. He's fine, the goalies are holdovers. Sabres are 2-3 years from anything at this point.
